Hey ladies 😎

For the past 10 weeks, I’ve been on a diet and I’ve lost 20 pounds (probably a few more since the last time I weighed myself a couple weeks ago). I’ve been incorporating weights into my workout and running every day, as well as eating healthier. I feel so much happier and better about myself! But the thing is... I still struggle with an anorexic mindset. I don’t want to take it too far and lose too much weight. All my old clothes fit again and I’m pretty content... I still want to build more muscle and tone up more, though. So my question is, how do I not allow myself to slip into “going overboard”?

How often do you mama’s that are toning up eat “non-healthy” meals or snacks? How do I know when it’s okay for me to eat ice cream at night when the kids go to bed or grab an iced coffee when I’m out running errands? I know it sounds stupid... I don’t want to deprive myself too much. I have a problem with not allowing myself to eat too much and beating myself up when I do. Thanks for reading, guys ❤️

I'd say you're a freaking rock star! Sounds like you're on the right track, if you want a damn ice cream cone... eat it! I agree with moderation. If you are exercising regularly and eating right, then a few bad snacks won't do any damage. I do it all the time😂

I can sympathize. I have been down this road when I was 17 and still struggle at 27. I say if you want an iced coffee drink one. I think moderation is key and if you follow the 80/20 rule you will be good. If you deprive yourself too much it may make you binge on junk then you’ll feel worse...

@cams, Idk if I’ve hit my goals 😭 I’m happier than I was and feel great, but I want abs lol. Why can’t I have abs and chocolate?! I just need to not allow myself to take it too far 😕

@mediocreleah, thanks Leah! I’ve never really focused on building muscle and toning as much as I am right now. I used to just run and that was it... Lately I’ve been having a cheat day once a week and allowing myself to have coffee, a reasonably sized unhealthy meal and sometimes dessert. I don’t want to lose much more weight but still want improvement, so idk how often is ok for me to allow myself to cave and have what I want.

It’s a slippery slope when you have previous issues. Everything is ok in moderation once you have hit your goals. Just remember one salad isn’t going to make you thin and one cheeseburger isn’t going to blow you up. If you’re working out pretty consistently, even one small treat a day (an iced coffee, a cookie, etc) isn’t going to do anything.

I just went by a calorie deficit, overall tried to eat clean wholesome foods, and if I had leftover calories that day (I had leftover calories every day) I’d have an ice cream cone or whatever snack didn’t bump me over my deficit. I had cheat days as well, and focused more overall on my weekly deficit rather than daily. I used the Lose It app. :)

And no it doesn’t sound stupid — it’s a very good question!
