@alyboo102293 std is a very straight by the book. Most companies use a 3rd party insurance company. You will most likely have to work for them for a year.

My job offers it but doesn’t do paid maternity leave. 🙄

@nsinecki, I haven’t been at my job a year that’s why I can’t get the FMLA , I am however gonna try for short term but seeings how my doctor just put me under restrictions I don’t think ill be approved

@alyboo102293 sounds like short term disability not fmla. Fmla is a federal act, which has nothing to do with pay. Std and fmla will be lumped together most of the time because of the same time requirements need for both are usually the dame.

^^^ FMLA does not offer any amount of pay. 😞 Just holds your job for you. If someone does get paid, it's either short term disability or company policy.

@alyboo102293 not exactly true fmla will protect your pay, hours and location as long you have worked for the company for 1250 hours and 12 months and they have more than 75 employees within 50 miles. Certain states like CA have there own fmla which may include pay. Fmla will only protect your job for a rolling calander year of 12 weeks.

@elijahsmom, basically covers you for 60% of your pay if full time employee if you have to take a medical leave of absence.

@eacire84, I have Medicaid, going to see if I qualify for short term disability for pregnancy because getting a job right now seems so far outta reach

Oh no ! If they have over 50 employees I thought they had to have FMLA? Do you mean your job won’t do STD...where you’d get paid partial pay? Hopefully you can qualify for some sort of benefits in the mean time .

@alyboo102293, I think it was June or July of last year when my job I worked at that was privately owned drastically cut my hours instead of working like eight hours a day I went down to working three hours a day Monday through Friday so believe me I understand the pain and I understand your situation try to see if you can get partial unemployment

@purplecarissa, I’m so mad, like couldn’t happen at a more inconvenient time, I’m 27 weeks pregnant nobody is gonna hire me right now, I have no saved money for real 😳 I’m so stressed out at this all.
