Ladies would you help your So with bills that are less that 1.000 a month? I don't want to be selfish but I feel like a man should be able to handle certain things without relying on his woman at all times?

What are your input on this?

You are being selfish sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️ if he happens to ask for help is because you as his significant partner should pick up whatever he can’t do. Bills shouldn’t be a his or hers and plus it’s so much better when there is two incomes coming in the house that way u both can rest take days off when u want too. Anywho just my opinion everyone is different but me if my man puts a thousand on the table I want to b able to slap the table right back with another thousand

Every couple does things different when it comes to finances. It’s just important to find what works for you guys. I would guess if he’s struggling to pay his portion of the bills it’s a good time to sit down and talk about how to fix it. We have not always shared finances. We were older when we got married and we both are established in our careers. It took us some time to start sharing finances. Initially we just both contributed a set amount to a household account where we paid all of our bills out of as well as where we allocated money to savings from. Then we both maintained our own “fun” money. It was a good stepping stone to sharing finances but still allowed us our own freedom to spend our fun money as we each wanted to. Over time we transitioned to sharing money. Having a budget and talking it through regularly is really important. Good luck! 👍🏻

Ever since we moved in together our money got put as one. We don’t split. Even though I call his money my money as a joke lol. I have a car payment but his checks pay it. And we console each other with every purchase we make for our selfs. Not like we will say no but to make sure we have the money. I also write down all bills and sort them out with all of our checks to make sure they will all be paid on time and we have enough.

@prettyflower1033, no worries good luck. Talk to him maybe think about one of you paying the bills. Like with us my husband pays all the bills including my car payment. I’m in charge of grocery shopping and buying whatever we need in the house

There’s no such thing as helping my husband with bills they are our bills. Our money is together. All our bills get paid from the same joint account, my credit cards his credit cards EVERYTHING! Our money gets put away in the same savings account and we have a rainy day fund that we keep in the event something goes wrong. I think the mentality that you don’t have to help your husband is ridiculous when you get married your a team and I’m sorry but if you think a man needs to pay for everything your logic is flawed. My husband makes more money than I do and we normally buy whatever we want unless it’s more than 100$ then we communicate with each other before buying it.

@beccaaalynnn11 its rent and utilities combined. Like most people have major bills I'll rather him not complain about our bills

@ek620 see the thing is he can. Not sure How to explain this. He just believe that we should just split everything. Or pay some of the bills even if it has to come out of my rainy day saving.

@prettyflower1033, It sounds like if he’s unable to pay the bills then you might need to go back to work sooner than you had planned to. Have you talk to him about this?

@prettyflower1033, Then yes, I think you should help pay the shared expenses. You two are a unit. I would never expect my husband to pay for everything on his own.
