We've only lived in this house for 3 months and already are having so many issues with a neighbor 2 doors down. He has come knocking on our door after 8PM 3 times now, woke up our daughter, accusing my husband of random things. Each time he comes he is totally drunk, the first time he came over to introduce himself when we 1st moved, I figured he just didn't know we had a baby so the nighttime thing didn't bother me. Conversation was normal but then took a turn for the worse when he started talking about how if my husband ever tried to "step" to him he'd knock him out. We just laughed it off thinking he had a rough sense of humor. The 2nd time he came over saying my husband broke into his garage... I can assure you we've never even been on this man's property. Tonight he came over telling us to stop revving our car engine because his kids are sleeping. Neither of us have left the house today and our daughter is sleeping as well so again, idk what this man is talking about. Anytime we say it wasn't us he starts acting as though he's ready to fight and is constantly telling me to go inside as if he's wanting to get my husband at the door alone. The next day he always comes over and apologizes. But I told my husband after tonight if he comes over again I'm going to ask him not to come on our property again. This area is so quiet and calm aside from the nights this man decides to try and start something. I'm not sure why we're the target, but I'm really considering calling the cops if it happens again. My husband comes from a really rough area and I'm afraid one day he's actually going to fight this guy if I'm not around.

@leslyev92 or you can tase his ass.. or you can get cameras around your house they're small enough we can't see or you know they do have the ones you can put in the doorbell. And the one that goes to the doorbell goes straight to your phone so it can be recorded so there won't be no he say she say stuff going on

@emily526, we just installed security cameras. Haven't had any issues here, but just in case anything does ever happen, I wanted to have proof, even if it's just someone stealing our packages.
That's crazy. I'd be so nervous, just to know he's there. But yeah, security cameras are definitely something worthwhile in your case. My cousin had the Ring doorbell and he likes it a lot...you don't even need to wire it in, you can get the one that runs on batteries!

@leslyev92 I have no idea what it could be, I just keep thinking it's the drinking. Because I've never seen him without a beer in his hand and he comes over obviously drunk.

@soon-2b-mother-of-3, lol that would be awesome! & @cams, no because then he’ll just go back to his house and claim he wasn’t doing anything. I think as soon as he knocks the first time call the cops and just wait. It’s best to just keep record of everything, people are crazy af. I have a crazy landlord who also happens to be my mother and I’m dealing with that daily! People out to get others for no reason, jealousy maybe?

Notify the police that he’s harassing you. Next time he starts ringing the bell, tell him (through the door) that you’re calling the police if he doesn’t get off of your property.

@tiffanyf I'm glad I never am home alone. But my husband is here with our daughter all day by himself. I know he wouldn't do anything with our daughter around of course, but Tuesdays she comes with me and he is here all alone I'm afraid if the guy comes around again my husband's going to do something. Just being from where he's from he's used to the fighting and all of that extra. Thankfully he's been changed since being in the military and being a father. But still tonight I wanted to smack the guy lol so I can't imagine how my husband was feeling.

@laniejay We tried that tonight but he rang the doorbell over 5x and it woke up the baby so I told my husband just to answer it. I'm not sure if you can do anything if someone keeps ringing your doorbell or not. But I did say now that this has happened multiple times the next time he comes onto our property I'm not going to answer the door or anything at all I'm just going to call the police because I really don't want him here again whether he's going to apologize or not I don't need a drunk on my property. And if other neighbors have had issues with him like they said then I believe I'm within my rights.

@emily526, yea exactly plus I would be scared to be home alone .. maybe because I overthink things a lot but there are some crazy people in this world.. and you are about to have two children to keep safe .

@its.a.bird @tiffanyf That's what I told my husband it seems like he's just a drunk. But we haven't been here long enough to know for sure. I did ask some of the other neighbors about him. One said they don't speak to him or anyone in that house, another said they had an issue with him but he came and apologized and that was that, and another said they haven't had any issues. But I told my husband if we get things on record we will be protected later on God forbid something happens.
