Anyone else’s hemoglobin drop after a c-section? Mine was a 10.1 I guess the day after I had her, then it dropped to a 8.4. I just now got told that I’m anemic and I left the hospital Saturday. I’ve been so dizzy & tired, and of course I thought it was just from having a newborn, nursing and losing some blood.

If you call and tell your OB/midwife your symptoms they might start you on a supplement so it can work it’s way back up to 12-15. Leafy greens and red meats are great sources of iron. Also vitamin C helps you absorb iron, so eating foods rich in vit C like oranges will help as well 😊

Yes I had that problem. I lost so much blood that they almost had to give me a blood transfusion. They were also making me take a ton of iron pills to help as well and I had to take iron pills for 4 months after having my daughter. I would get so dizzy and almost fall over. I still have that sometimes now and have to take an iron pill. It sucks but it's worth her smile.

I didn't have a csection but I was "anemic" for a while after having my daughter. Just had to make sure to eat healthy and drink plenty of water. I say talk to your doctor on what they recommend to do.
