Hi ladies hope you had a great day today! Just have a question for you mom’s out there. I’m going to get birth control soon. I’m 6 weeks postpartum from having my baby girl. I have a question about the Nexplanon. After my first pregnancy I got the demo shot. I didn’t have a problem with that one just didn’t like the fact that my hair would shed like crazy and that one was every 3 months. I know the Nexplanon is every 3 Year’s which is great. But I’ve heard mixed reviews. I wanted to know if you had it what was your experience with it. Did it work for you? Or is there something you didn’t like about it. I’m scared of major weight gain. I’ve never had problems with that but I know certain birth controls causes weight gain. I take care of myself and watch what I eat on day to day basis. Also did it hurt when inserting the Nexplanon?

It hurts for about three days after. I had implanton twice (the earlier version) and then got nexplanon after having my daughter. I loved implanton but had my period for four months when I first got it. (it wasn't really a big deal though I didn't mind) However with nexplanon I was on it for a year and a half. Then I quit breastfeeding. When I did I got my first period and I bled hard every day for three months and every day I had cramps so horrible I would curl up in bed in pain. I finally got the stick removed and it stopped. It was horrible. It actually hurt so bad that I'm afraid to go back on any other type of contraceptive.

I hated nexplanon. Like I would never ever recommend it to anyone! I got it in high school when I ate pretty well and was very active in sports and I gained about 25lbs in a month. Plus my periods got so messed up I would bleed for like 3 months straight then have a week break and then bleed for another month and so on. It was insane. And not to mention the terrible cramps that come alone with it. Honestly it messes with your body so bad and it never goes back to normal (in my case) I still have terrible cramps and I could never lose the weight I gained. Luckily my periods went back to a normal cycle but they are still so heavy and with the cramps.
