Who should get the tdap vaccine? Everyone that’s going to be around the baby or just the ones that will be around a lot?

I made anyone that planned to be around her at all get it. My FIL, MIL, husband, and mom.

Everyone that was going to be around baby. If they didn't, they didn't hold my baby. I didn't give no fs.

I agree. Everyone who will be around baby should get it... unless they know for a fact that they have had it in the last 10 years. Whooping cough can be fatal for infants.

@girlmom., my mom doesn’t even want to get it, she says she doesn’t get sick so what’s the point 😒 like really? I have a huge family so I just didn’t know if every single person should or just the grandparents and my bf and I, thanks!!

@babybump21, yes.. the vaccine is effective for 10 years. If they are not sure if they got it in the past 10 years it does not hurt to get another one. The vaccine is given routinely every 10 years or every pregnancy.

@babybump21, Haha I don’t have friends. I didn’t let anyone come near her until she was about 2 months old.

@babybump21 if they have had it in the last 10 years they don't have to get it again. But really what's $35 if it's going to be safer for baby

My doctor said the mom is the most important person to get tdap, as long as she gets it the babies are protected until they are able to get their shots... the doctor also told me that babies who get whopping cough most likely got it from their mom
