WIC and formula help please

WIC and formula help please

We recieve WIC, and right now im breastfeeding, but Aleeyah has been refusing the breast for a week now. I didn't supplement for a couple of days thinking it was just a phase.. but those 2 days she nursed like twice and then only had solid food. so I started supplementing with formula. she gets 3-4 feedings from the breast and 3-4 of formula.

Where I live they have a contract with similac and my son has been in nutramigen since he was 2 weeks old. They asked me if I would try alimentum, similar to nutramigen, but I told them that My son was first on similac advance but didn't tolerate it, then sensitive but got constipated and form that reason I wouldn't. They gave me a for that my sons pedi needed to fill out and they ended up giving me nutramigen.

Where I live they cover different brands. Certain ones have to be prescribe by a doctor. But you can get powder or concentrate but not the ready to feed.

I don't have the time to pump and feed her a bottle. To pump enough for a bottle I have to pump for almost an hour. I don't respond well to pumping anymore. Plus my supply is low now since she nurses so little.

We use the Gerber good start gentle in ready-to-use or concentrate.

We've tried the gas drops in the bottle of powdered. She still spits it up. Like projectile spit up. And she screams and cries. I can't lay her flat to sleep and she won't sleep reclined unless I sleep with her in the recliner.

They will just have her Dr write a wic prescription for it in liquid form

It's different from state to state, but there are alot that do. Call the office and ask. They will let u know if u need script or if you can just change it.

I had wic before dd was born and never got to my appointment for dd because i dropped it after gerber formula didnt agree with her. Her pedi wrote a script and sent it to them for similac but they said they wouldnt accept it because they have a contract with gerber so i quit going all together since there was no sense in it because i went for the formula and wasnt able to get what i needed. Is your lo using the gerber brand liquid? Im sure if its gerber they will switch it with a note from your pedi. try calling your wic office and asking and if they will have your dr fax them a script for it thats how i found out.

So my daughter was on Similac Advanced.. But was switched to Sensitive.. Well its been over 2 weeks and they sent over something to WIC to have it changed on my checks. I haven't gone to WIC yet.. But now I think this formula is making her constipated.. She hasn't been popping much. And when she does she has a really hard time. Question is... Can it be the formula causing the constipation??

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a few cans of formula with cash today don't think this can she has now is going to last till her WIC appointment on Monday and I don't want to take no chances and end up running out. I swear WIC does not give you enough formula to last a whole month my baby goes through them cans like it ain't nothing but I appreciate what WIC do give though because $17.96 for one can of formula that will probably last three to four days at the max is EXPENSIVE!!! So thank god for WIC 🙌🙌💯
