Please speak up for yourself. If they start fishing tell them to stop and find someone who can do it. It drives me insane. The course I took for my certification was big on not fishing!

@mommamckinney1997, ugh i hate that. When i went to donate blood weeks ago three diff people fished my vein. I cried it hurt so bad. Then got really dizzy

First time I have blood work done the girl who was doing it freaked out and didn't poke my vein at all. All because I had a fear of needles and she had to call 2 other people to do it.

@kelsey19, i went to school for medical assisting and i took a basic phlebotomy course and we definitely learned that!

@kellynicole, I didn’t realize that was taught. I’m a nurse so I didn’t have a lot of phlebotomy specific education. I’m glad to hear that isn’t taught, but a lot of people still do it! I appreciate a good phlebotomist so much.

I hate when they dig. 😖 If I stick and miss I start over.

That happens to me EVERY time I have to get blood drawn!!! They've dug, had to use heating pads and than usually have to get it from my hand

@soon2bemama, i didn’t have a chance to since i didn’t know I’d get in so soon. But I’ve drank a decent amount the past 24 hours

Oh i hate when they do that its painful and anmoying .

Have you tried drinking a lot of water before going in for blood? Usually it helps
