more sleep help
My son is almost 22 months old and still needs to be rocked to sleep for naps and if I don't do it he won't fall asleep on his own till 5 or wait till 7 and go to sleep for the night. Bed time is fine he just lays with me and falls asleep.

Would rubbing his back to sleep work? And then once he gets used to that, you can slowly rub his back less and less and hopefully in that process he can learn to fall asleep on his own?
A lullaby/music and comfort item? Hope you find a solution soon :)

Try earlier/later nap times? What does he do when you lay with him at nap?
I just discovered the trick for my 24mo who had fought sleep every day of his life. Moved him to a mattress on the floor with his favorite character new sheets. If I sit in there with him he squirms and kicks for an hour, if I leave and close the door he runs to it and cries. So I was trying the sit a while and inch away tactic but it was taking forever, and like you I won't have that luxury in 3 more weeks.
A few nights ago we did bedtime routine (brush teeth, books, lights off, kisses) and I told him it's time to stay in bed and sleep, night night. I left the room but didn't close the door, but was out of sight. He started to whimper and I called in to him it's ok, time to sleep, night night. To my shocking surprise he was quiet, stayed in bed and played with a stuffed animal, and 10 minutes later asleep. I am still dumbfounded, but it works!

My first thought was "wow! He falls asleep on his own each night" but I totally get your fear with the twins. Both mine still nurse to sleep for naps and it's rough! My oldest would want me to stay in her bed for hours at night. I changed things up and nursed her in the glider then put her in bed. At first it was talking a long time. Now we can do it in 5-10 minutes. When I'm ready to put her in bed, I count backwards from 10. She knows what it means bc she will pull off. Maybe you could do something like that with a timer and gradually lessen the time

Yes he puts himself to sleep but in my bed which I'm ok with that for right now, naps r my bigger issue
He loves his back rubbed but it has never put him to sleep he just lays there till I'm done.
I've tried changing the nap time and it doesn't help. And the problem is when I'm rocking him to sleep it takes 10 minutes and he cries the whole time and fights me. And when I try and lay with him he gets up and won't lay down. The only way to get him to sleep is by me holding him and him fighting me. Which is getting hard because my stomach is already huge and I'm almost 29 weeks. The car will put him to sleep but my husband takes it to work. And I would try walks but it's like in the 90s right now and I can't walk very far. And I don't want him to get use to it. We haven't gotten him a bed for his room yet which I'm hoping to do next week. So I will try having me and him lay in his room but he won't even lay in my bed for naps and that's where he sleeps every night so I'm not sure his room will work.

I still nurse my 22 month old for all naps and bedtime. Sorry I am no help!

Oh the fighting and crying and rocking...all so familiar. I got too big to hold him too, that's why we got the floor bed.

I used to put a couple books and a toy in the crib with my dd for nap time. That kept her happy and she usually played for 15-20 min, then went to sleep.

I've tried toys and books in his crib but he seems scared of his crib if he's awake. I'm hoping to get a bed on Tuesday or Wednesday and start then so he can understand that's where naps and bedtime will be before my twins come.
