I had a breakdown today...
I just lost it! I work from home and it's been so stressful lately! I tried putting DD down for a nap so I could get some work done but she would NOT go to sleep. Instead she decided to DESTROY her room, she climbed her dresser and fell off, bumping her head and started screaming! I ran upstairs to get her and the baby gate got stuck and I accidentally ripped it from the wall!!! Now I have a huge hole and dry wall dust and chunks everywhere! :-( Then I think I had a panic attack. I couldn't breathe and was just crying hysterically. I started having contractions and my heart was racing out of my chest. DD was fine but she never did take a nap. Because of that, she's been a complete terror all night, throwing the worst tantrums while I was trying to cook dinner. Ahhhh!

Take big deep breaths. If at all possible, call someone to help. Better yet, call in delivery food. No reason to cook if you don't have too.
Tomorrow is a new day.

I do have a husband and he knows but he refuses to care. I mean, he is super helpful when he's home, I never have to ask him to help clean, do laundry, or help our with the kids. He even cooks when I need him to! It's just that I resent him. We live in this big ol' house in a suburb in one of the most expensive counties in the country. I want to move further out into a smaller house so I can be a SAHM but he refuses because he likes our house and the neighborhood. It makes me feel like he cares more about this stupid house than he does my happiness and the well being of my family.
The issue is, we both work full time and I just feel like my kids don't get the attention they deserve from either of us. My mom already comes over 3 days a week and watches my DD (we pay her), the other two days, my SO goes into work later so I can get some work done in the morning. Then I take a few hours in the middle of the day to be with her, then I usually put her down and finish up work while she naps. It's just so much to juggle. I don't know how I'll manage with a third. The issue is, I don't want to manage! I just want to be a mom! I don't want to be a full time employee or the breadwinner, I just want to be with my babies!

Ooh girl your previous reply sounds exactly like My husband. Expect mine doesn't cook. Nut he rather us both work and live in the huge house in an expensive suburb with fancy cars and pay 650 a month for babysitting then to move to a reaonable area still 4 bedroom homes and regular carsso i can stay home with my babies. Its irritating.
Glad your baby is okay and your contractions stopped! Deep breaths! Everything will be okay. We all have our days. Yesterday a broke down and yelled at my daughter to shut up because she screaming and yelling for no reason. I think my neighbors might have heard me but It was either that or break something. I hope your days get better

What kind of work do you do from home? Could you do it later at night after hubby is home or after LO goes to bed?

I'm a cyber security engineer so it's pretty much a core business hour position. I used to have to go into the office but my commute was so long (2 hours each way) they started letting me work from home full time in 2011. They are very flexible about flexing time (working extra one day for a doc appt the next or taking off early on Fridays when possible) but since I am a program manager as well, I have to set a good example for my employees as well so I try to stick to a pretty regular schedule.
