Sometimes, there are oils on leather couches that we don't notice. Your dog could be lacking some vitamins that are in those oils on the couch. Try changing up the food, or adding some supplement if nothing else seems to work! I hope it gets better! (:

It did just start about a month or so ago and I am 9 weeks pregnant. There have been no other changes, think she can sense that?

She isn't crated but my other dog is. She has started to have a little incontinence issue so I've contemplated crating her at night, even though she has been been crated before.

Mind does that too. Its so gross. His breath is horrible and stinks up the room when he does. And it doesn't seem to matter if its quiet or if we are watching tv so I don't know why if does.

Ugh my dog licks everything constantly. She has really awful anxiety.

A thunder shirt is a tight fitting shirt for dogs that is supposed to calm them down during thunderstorms. It makes them feel as if a human is holding on to them and keeping them safe.

She could becoming senile. Old dogs can develop something called cognitive dysfunction syndrome. They will do stuff like lick random things constantly, stare off into space, and bark at nothing. So it could be the beginnings of that. There are medications that help senility in dogs so if you set up appointment with your vet you can see about getting her started on it if you want to treat it/ if that's what it is. If not treated it won't physically impair her just FYI.

I have a rescue that does that. It's pretty annoying lol. The thunder shirt really helped her though

She's a pickapoo. Her breed life span is 11-15 years and she'll be 15 in August. She's not in perfect health; she's lost most of her hearing and she has mammary tumors (not cancerous). Other than that, she is in good shape, she still runs around, chases my other dog (whom she hates), can jump on the couch, etc.

I'm kind of taking these old age things as they come and giving her the benefit of the doubt because I'm sure I'll be a crazy mean old lady too, but I just want to make sure it's not a sign of something bad.

And she throws up about 1-2 times per month, but she's been that way her whole life. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old.

Is she getting upset stomachs often? What kind of dog is she?

I have noticed when she has an upset stomach she will lick along the baseboards of the house (where the dirt and dog hair catch) until she makes herself throw up... But the couch is new.

Yea def anxiety turns into ocd. Yup animals get it too. My.dog does that. To the couch and the carpet. He's very anxious . More exercise and toys to keep em distracted helps .

What pp said, anxiety or it could be reflux or an upset stomach. Is she eating any grass?

Anxiety? If my dog is stressed she licks the crap out if her paw and if I don't increase her exercise and keep her active she will literal lick til there is no fur left.
