When did you give your lo peanut butter?

I am curious as to when you gave your LO peanut butter, DS is a year old now and I'm wondering if he is still too young for it.

Our doctor told us the earlier the better.

Around a year old.

1 year with ds, it will be 1 year adjusted with dd.

9m with my first. 10 or 11 with my second (she wasn't really into eating anything but yogurt before then). Doctor said that new info said withholding it increased allergen risk.

Pediatrician recommend giving allergens like pb, eggs, etc... before 9 months (with repeat exposure after 1 week) if there is no family history of allergies to the foods.

A peanut butter sandwich was the first thing DD2 ever ate haha! She's was a few days shy of 6 months and stuff it in her face all by herself :)

6 months

I gave it to him sometime after 6 months because there is no history of peanut allergies on either side of his family. I spread it very thinly on crackers. He's 1 now, and I make him mini pb&j sandwiches.

Pp what kind of daycare allows peanut butter to be served?! Holy crap that's insane.

Нравится Ответить

He swiped a very tiny amount off a sandwich I was eating when he was 9 months old.

And that's the story of how I had to call 911 because my child is allergic to peanuts.

Also nobody in my family or my ex's family has any food allergies.

7/8 months. It was his fav.

Around 7m. They're 3 and 4.5 and both of them loooooove peanut butter now.

Just remember that allergic reactions are usually not the first time you are introduced to something.... they usually show up the second time or even subsequent times.

7 months. Only thing u have to wait on is honey (1 yr) and should seriously limit is milk (before 1)

Нравится Ответить

Like 9 months I think. I never avoided any food, it can actually cause allergies instead of avoid them

We have no history of nut allergies, but I tested all my boys at 12 months because my oldest had an egg allergy. My youngest is allergic to all nuts, so he's never had peanut butter.

Нравится Ответить

Me personally never im severly allergic. But my mom gave it to them after a year

Нравится Ответить

Ds1 I think was at 6 months old. And I was afraid of the allergic reaction as well so I bought some peanut butter right before his check up and gave him a little bit of it before going into the dr office lol just incase?. I was a super paranoid ftm lol.

My son didn't have peanut butter until he was 3. I have a lot of food allergies so the Dr recommended waiting quite a bit to add any of the high allergy foods. He's 11 now and eats everything. And doesn't have any food allergies

Around 7 mos, he had it over ten times, then I gave it to him once and he broke out in hives. We saw the allergist and he's allergic ?

Нравится Ответить

At 1 I gave him peanut butter, he liked it but came out in a rash so I haven't given it to him since.

Нравится Ответить

After 1 year , after allergy testing. Family history of peanut allergies.

Нравится Ответить

At about 6.5- 7 months, and she loved it!

Нравится Ответить

I gave it to my LO at 7 months. She absolutely loved it! A small piece of toast and peanut butter. I think she are almost the whole thing.

Нравится Ответить

Around 11 months he got pb&j sandwiches at daycare.

Нравится Ответить

She was a little over a year. If she had been a big eager, I probably would have given it sooner but she started eating at eight months and didn't really get into having food until around a year and a half. Unless there is a known allergic tendency in the family I treat it like any new food and introduce it whenever my child is ready for that texture.

At 7/8 months. She doesn't like it. Or maybe doesn't care for it. Lol will try again later. I have a mild allergy to nuts but she didn't have any reaction.

Нравится Ответить

6 months. He loves it.

I didn't realize I could start so early. I thought it was later because of allergies. Maybe I'll try it on pita bread for him in the morning for breakfast!

Нравится Ответить

We won't be till after a year and allergy testing. Unfortunately for us DD cannot have any food until testing gets done

Нравится Ответить

6mo. I mix it with applesauce and bananas and he LOVES it

Нравится Ответить

7 months or so

I think I might try it with him tomorrow. No one in my family or DHs family is allergic.

Нравится Ответить

Not until like 16 months or something like that. I was too nervous to because my sil is allergic to peanuts. Then my husband told me he gave him peanut butter before and he never had a reaction so he's had peanut butter since. He would eat peanut butter bread all day if I would let him.

I just started giving it to my son after he turned 1.

Нравится Ответить

6 months.

There's really no reason for you to wait if your LO is already a year old. The recommendations use to be the age of one mainly for the allergy factor. Now they say, the earlier the better. I just spread a thin amount on a piece of toast, and my daughter loves it. Just keep your eye out for any type of reaction.

After she turned 1.

Never.

That shiz is nasty.
