Sleep consultant for sleep training ?!
Sleep consultant for sleep training ?!
Hey ladies.. I'm seriously considering having a sleep consultant come help us. I am so sick of nursing him to sleep then rocking him for about 20 minutes and then carefully having to place him in the crib so I don't wake him up. And if he does wake up I have to repeat the process over and over. No sleep is making me crazy!

Umm I haven't heard of this but I need it. I have the same problem as you. Except for the nursing to sleep part. But if her paci falls out of her mouth (which happens all of the time because she can't keep it in) she freaks. She slept from 7-11 last night (ok pretty good, but I think I got lucky) and then woke up 2 hrs after and then every hr. She finally ended up in bed with me.

I have to bounce on an exercise ball to get my baby to sleep so I literally bounce for like 10 hrs a day and my back is destroyed haha.

You should see if there's a place in your area that does it. I have to stand up and walk around and walk him and it's hard on my back too.. I try to use the rocking chair but when I stand up he wakes up.. It's awful. I fight with him daily to get him to nap.. My whole day is spent trying to get him to nap.. If he doesn't nap during the day then it's impossible for him to sleep well at night. I feel your pain :( it's frustrating

My sil karen did this, but her sister (Megan) was the one to sleep train my niece. It worked for Megan, but when Karen went to put her daughter to sleep, she would just cry and cry until Karen took her in the bed with her. Although, my niece was almost a year old.

One of the moms in my mom group did that and had great success :)

I personally don't believe in sleep training. I truly believe that every child needs certain things to help them sleep and to help them sleep comfortably. All my kids have bed shared because that's what has helped them feel safe. My oldest needed a bottle then his back patted, my second needed to cuddle and listen to music, this little guy needs his paci then to be bounced and loves sleeping on my chest. My two older kids did wake up pretty much every two hours till about 18 months, so yes I was a zombie pretty much straight till my second was that age because they are so close in age. But even though I was exhausted, it's not about me. I would gladly run on zero sleep and have my babies comfortable and happy. Now my older two are awesome sleepers. They go to sleep in their own no problem, sleep all night and sleep like rocks. I really feel that is because they felt secure and safe as babies while they slept. I have certain things i need to sleep that I would be pissed if someone took them away. I am a firm believer in not doing anything to your children that you wouldn't want done to yourself.

I got lucky, Emmett is a great sleeper for the most part.
Idk it reminds me of hiring a trainer for my dog.
I'd probably feel very very differently if I didn't have such a good sleeper lol and would def be willing to fork up the money. I like my sleep too!
To each their own (:

Sleep training doesn't mean your baby will be uncomfortable and unhappy. It is not the cry it out method. All the consultant does is give you the tools to create a consistent sleep routine and allow your baby to fall asleep on their own without relying on sleep props or associations.

I looked it up, and i thought someone literally comes in and puts your baby to sleep for a week or so until they train them to do it themselves. Sorry for my misunderstanding!!
