Yes my LO had lip tie and tongue tie.. having the same symptoms you are describing too..

We had a laser revision (frenectomy) to correct it.. he did great right after and took him about 2 weeks to learn to use his new mouth (alot more movement) I used a nipple shield during this time.

We've been successfully breastfeeding ever since.

Omg yes my baby cries lots during feeds, all of ur symptom I'm going to my doctor to see if I can sort this as she won't take her bottle well and dummy's are a defo no no!

Mine did! We got it cut with a laser. It's a genetic trait. In our case he got it from me (we know because I have a gap in my front teeth). Where I live the doctors don't check for it. There are two options, stetch it out and hope he grows out of it, or get it cut.

My little guy looked like he had pursed lips all the time. His lip tip was very tight and he couldn't bring his lip up at all.

I suggest getting it looked at. My midwife found out my little guy had one and where I live only a handful of people are trained to cut them. One was a doctor and the other 2 were dentists.

We got it done and his latch was a million times better and his weight gain went up.

My little one is 10 weeks and I jut noticed a few days ago. He ha all of those symptoms. Hopefully the doc will fix it cause my nipples hurt so bad an he's always so gassy.

mine had class IV tie. had it lasered.

a week after, his colic was gone, painful gas gone, reflux slightly improved, and the snacking and crappy sleep at night? he now sleeps for 8 hours at night.

Most babies with a lip ties also have posterior tongue ties. You can't see them unless you know how to find them. My lactation consultant found our posterior tongue tie. The lip tie was obvious though. I'm considering laser at a pediatric dentist.

@j.church how long was the recovery afterward ? Was he able to breastfeed normally right away?

I can see the piece of skin attached to the gums on the top (I don't know what class it would be) but my hubby doesn't think he has a lip tie at all.. I've been trying to show him what a normal upper lip without a tie would look like but Google has failed me lol

Mine was able to feed right away. He didn't want to but after a nap, he ate beautifully. We did exercises to help prevent it reattaching. It didn't bother him at all I always did them before and after a feed.

I stopped breastfeeding at four weeks. I now know it was due to his silly mouth, but now it's too late. ?

and after he was lasered, it was a tough seven days or so. but omg. he's been a dream baby ever since.
