Nausea symptom of OHSS?

I took my trigger last night, and I’m booked in for egg collection tomorrow morning. Last 24 hours I’ve felt nauseous, tired, and achy all over. Clinic told me that estrogen is high, and explained I may have to freeze all embryos. Is this mild OHSS I’m experiencing? Is there anything I can do to get it under control to proceed with a fresh transfer?

I was at risk for ohss so we did a freeze all after egg retrieval. I ended up getting pregnant naturally the next cycle. Unfortunately I ended up m/c but I truly believe all the leftover hormones from the ivf in my system helped get me pregnant! So maybe you will also get a bfp before christmas:):) Good Luck!! ??

Thanks for the advice ladies. I had 11 eggs retrieved today. Still feeling nauseous and bloated, and of course sore! Not sure if the nausea is a result of the sedation or related to OHSS. Guess the next five days will tell. Feeling the way I am now, I’d prefer to wait one month before transfer. But I so want a BFP for Christmas.

A good doctor wont do a fresh transfer if they suspect OHSS. It is simply too risky. I had it severely 6 years ago which resultes in me hospitalised and doctors telling me that if it gets any worse they will have to terminate my pregnancy. I was a mess and could only think of how hard it was to get to that point to be pregnant (4weeks). Luckily it never came to that, but omg it was such a horrible experience - painful, uncomfortable, worrying.

I would 100% opt for an FET if you or your dr suspect it. Good luck!

My Dr told me that OHSS won't occur until after the egg retrieval if it does. Because it's the fluid from your aspirated follicles that leaks into your abdominal cavity I think that causes ohss....

Your Dr will be the best judge of your ability to proceed with fresh; however, OHSS can be life threatening. My understanding is that your body needs time for your estrogen levels to return to a safe zone as pregnancy would only exacerbate the situation.

Wishing you all the best.
