Labor question

I'm a ftm and I am just curious, do contractions just come out of nowhere or do they build up? Will they just happen all of a sudden?

I had no Braxton Hicks and my water broke 3 weeks before my due date. 5 hours after my water broke I still wasn't having contractions so I was given pitocin to start them up.

Mine came out of no where at 5 am in the morning ? lol worst time ever! They were 3 minutes apart lasting 1 minute until I had my daughter. They pretty much stayed the same intensity throughout my whole labor

Did you ladies have any idea labor was going to start soon prior to the contractions? Other than your due dates approaching lol

Both. My first they built up for 3 days before it was finally considered active labor. My third I was already dilated to 4cm with no real contractions so when they started they started at full speed.

It's different for everyone. Some don't experience them until their water breaks. I had Braxton hicks then nothing for 2 days then my water broke and they started an hour afterwards.

Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?
