Baby wants crib
For the past few nights, Layla's been doing this really unusual thing where she asks to go in the crib at bedtime! Until now, I've been getting her to sleep in my arms & transferring her to the crib, but now she starts to flail and flip out if she's in my arms.
Thank you for sharing the article! Lots of good advice in there! I'm thinking it's a regression & molar teething (so much fun) bc last night Layla had a fever of 102, was not herself & could NOT be left in the crib alone for more than 2 mins, even after falling asleep. We ended up co-sleeping all night & she needed to be held most of the time, poor thing. But getting her down for the nap today was fairly easy for DH, so I'm hoping we're on the mend. Will update! Hugs all around!
Sending you great big hugs Mary. I don't do CIO either, but Em screamed and cried for almost 45 mins the other day while I tried to get her to sleep. I tried everything to console and and nothing helped. I just sleep when she does because I don't know what else to do. Teething and a cold are making sleep extra hard. I pray that when teething is over sleep gets better and easier. Layla knows your there with her and doing your best. Hugs and prayers ?
The hand-holding is so sweet! But I'm sure it'll be a little tricky when the new baby arrives. We loved cosleeping & bedsharing but fully cosleeping wasn't working for us, so usually we start her in the crib and halfway through the night she wakes and we bring her in our bed. But whatever this is right now is a nightmare. It's like, I can't hold her to sleep and I can't just leave her in the crib. And I've always been against CIO so I'm really trying to walk a tight rope here. Hoping it gets better soon! And Sorry you're still having sleep trouble, too, Tara. Hugs ???
Well I didn't say she was going down without a fight! Haha She had 1 night when she was so tired she conked out on her own, but last night was such a struggle. She would play in the crib, but if I picked her up she wailed. I found myself saying stuff like "You want me to pick you up? No? Then you need to stay still and close your eyes!" Like a drill sgt! Why am I suddenly the threat? Haha
For us it's mostly teeth too. The last couple days haven't been to bad with teething. I had no idea there was an 18m sleep regression either. It explains a lot. Emma sleeps like a kid in College ? or like her Dad. It's 10PM and I just had coffee so I can stay awake till 2AM. Hugs and prayers for all our Nov toddlers, parents and family too.
