Unique Names for Baby
Many of you will probably not agree with me on this, but I do want to give some food for thought. I am fully in support of every person naming their child what they want, within reason (for example my husband was being dumb the other day & started joking about how we should name our child Samuel Adams, like after the beer) whether it be a traditional or unique name. But I do want to caution you as to remember that kids are just as cruel about picking on each other now as when we were all kids. Yes you may not have been the one picking, but you knew someone who did & someone who was bullied. So when picking out a name please think what your child might have to go through bc of that name. You won't always be there & they won't always come to you when they're harassed at school. & it is much easier to deal with teasing as an adult versus a child. If you are going to name them something that is more than likely going to render teasing then please make sure you build up their self esteem & confidence before they ever start school. & if it is going to be difficult to spell then start teaching them early so they won't get embarrassed when it takes them longer to get it than their peers. I say this as a soon to be mom of 3 with 9 nieces & nephews & an Early Childhood Educator of many years.

I somewhat agree
Thing is... what's common here may not be common somewhere else. They may not get teased for having a certain name in Texas but it may be a different story when they move to new York.
I have a unisex name "Quinn" it wasn't common for girl when I was a kid. Let alone a first name. But I'm seeing it more often now than ever before.
I just believe in naming a child based on its meaning and if its purpose driven. I'm more concerned about their life path and if it compliments them. Names determine purpose IMO
