8month old wants to wean? Unsure...

Dd is nearly 8 months. EBF with one bottle of expressed milk at bedtime every day. Eating solids since 5 months, loves her food. Very happy & settled bub, in the last month has become a fussy breast feeder. Not every feed but its becoming more often (crying, squirming, not wanting to latch). I am wondering if she is trying to tell me she's done with breast feeding or if she has just been a little fussy lately - has anyone else experienced this?

Same thing happened to me when i got my period. Just had my 3 rd period and she didn't react like that this time like she did the first 2 times.

Ok well I think I know why bub has been fussy feeding... Got my first period pp today & apparently this makes milk taste salty/sour a week or so beforehand, which is when the fussing started!

Hoping to keep breast feeding till 12 months but we will have to see how we go for the next 4 months...

Great - thanks ladies.

It's not all the time and not that bad, just wondered whether others had gone through the phase or if it was an "I'm ready to wean" cue.

My son did this around that age, as grumpy said its a phase and he go over it. He's 12 months now and we're still breastfeeding and he doesn't do it anymore.

Mine is 9 months and constantly attacking me and unlatching to look around. Not ready to give up yet though

My LO is 7 months and it's got to the stage where we feed in my room. If I sit in the family room she's up and down like a yoyo and a feed could go on for an hour. I secretly like it as I go in for 1/2 feed both sides in the peace and quiet and sometime get to watch something I like on TV!! Let's keep that as our little secret!!!

Is it at a particular time of the day?? I agree with above, the world is much to interesting to pay attention to boob. when my son did it I started feeding in a quiet place and even closed the blinds and turned off the lights to sit in the dark.

My eight month old is the same. It's a phase. She's too busy looking around to worry about feeding. As soon as the let down comes she pulls off and milk squirts everywhere. Back on two seconds off sits up looks around drives me nuts back on.

They get over it eventually. I'm not giving up as I don't want to do formula and cant give cows milk until 12 months.
