What's the best??
I haven't started cloth diapering yet but I'm starting by doing some research. What types of cloth diapers are the best? I'm looking for something cost friendly, long lasting and comfortable. (My dd is 8 months old and is 22 lbs so she's got chunky thighs!) Any advice would be great!
Thank you soo much for the great advice! You ladies are 10x better then google lol. ... Are the sprayers for the toilet necessary or is there another way to do it?
Big companies like cottonbabies (who make bumgenius) also have periodic seconds sales. It's like clearance diapers. Diapers that might have a different stitch or something else not "standard" go into this sale. It's usually about 40% off. I got about half of my newborn bg that way. It was 7.95 instead of 12.95. The rest of my newborn stash are not seconds bg and imagine snap in one (they call them all in ones but they snap. They dry MUCH faster than my BG)
Remember you can usually sell what you buy for about 60-70% of what you paid. Depending on condition and brand.
For easy changes if suggest all in ones. Build your stash with pockets (2 step all in ones. You stuff them like a pillowcase) and slowly add all in ones as you find the ones you like. You may also find you prefer fitteds(super absorbent!!! Require a cover) for night time and something a little trimmer for day.
I'd also add that Sunbaby comes in two sizes. I think size 2 is better for chunky monkeys. I have one too. :)
Someone put the best tip on here the other day, and I totally used it today. If you have a buy buy baby near you, they always send out $5 coupons. They have bum genius 4.0 in store for 17.99 with the coupon that is a bg for 12.99. That is a really great deal for a high quality diaper- you can definitely get that back for resale. Thanks to whoever originally posted :-).
Oh this post has me all over it!!
Okay cheap route; your best bet would be Alvas, Sunbabys, or kawaii's but since you said you have a chunkie baby (so do I) I'd say alvas and kawaii's would be better for you chunkie monkey. BUT, depending on your wash dry routine they may die sooner but you can also get them to live a long life. I've seen a lady with 5 year old Alvas that still look like new! So it is possible.
For a longer life span, better quality, but more on the expensive side I'd go with of course Fuzzi Bunz, and Bum Genius. I love my Fuzzi Bunz elites so much! Super trim and not too to hard on the pocket.
To be honest I'd get some alvas and kawaii's save up and work you way up and sell what you don't want. I'm currently getting rid of my pockets (pockets and great for a beginner) for Aios (A:ll I:n O:nes) or SIOs (S:nap I:n O:nes).
I'd start with pocket diapers. Easiest type for us (although we've switched over to wham hybrids). Out of the china cheapies I like sunbabies, but my dd outgrew the leg holes when she was 4 months old. She has chubby leg syndrome. BumGenius worked best for us, they are not cheap though...
Thank you. I also just read the threads at the top of the forum. Lots of great info there!
What do you guys think of cloth diapers?

I almost cried today! I'm so excited to start cloth diapering 😁
Best cloth diapers to use I'm gonna start buying diapers in Jan and trying to figure out which which ones to use
Best diapers?
What is the best diapers to get?
Im a FTM and I'm really deciding on Cloth diapers... any of you ladies use them...or both disposable and cloth? I say disposable for when someone in the family babysits and don't know how to use the cloth diapers #HelpPlease
You can get biodegradable liners like bummis. I think some ladies just use a hose or buy a kitchen sink hose to attach. I just do the swish in the toilet method. Dd has pretty solid poo that just plops off and ds is ebf so you don't have to rinse it off first.
