Feeling guilty

Any other second time moms feeling guilty about their pregnancy? It makes me sad to think that in a few months my son won't be an only child anymore. He'll get less attention, and probably be jealous of the new baby. I don't want him to think he's being replaced :(

Don't feel guilty! My girls are best friends. They do everything together and they even sleep in the same bed. My oldest doesn't remember life before her sister. Recently in fact we were discussing the new baby and she said "thank you for giving me babies mom, I love them." She also once told us her sister is the best gift she ever got. I take my girls on "dates" one on one at least once a month so they get special time with me. When I do homework with my oldest, I'll cuddle and read a book to my second after. I try to balance it and give them both their own attention. I sometimes worry about my youngest because she's older than my oldest was when I had her so she's used to being the youngest but I know it'll all work out! There will be jealousy, I'm not going to lie but just have your older child help with the baby and try to make them feel important and involved. I took my oldest to most of my appts with me which she loved because she got to hear the heartbeat/see the baby, I think that helped too. It'll all be great, it'll all work out and your children will be happy to have each other. It is so easy to find a balance, seriously, the routine was really quick for me! I'm happy to offer you support or advice any time!

Don't feel guilty!!! My son who is now 11 has been a only child until now with me being pregnant and he is sooo excited!! All his life he's been asking for a brother or a sister.. Being sad that he was a only child while all his cousins have siblings... I don't feel guilty at all.. And he's soo excited!!

Don't feel guilty at all. Your son will love & welcome the new baby he will try to help out A LOT! This is my 3rd child & my children are excited. Talk to your son and tell him how he's going to be a big brother let him rub your tummy and stuff. If he's too young to do any of these things you can still talk to him :) it'll work out just fine.

I felt the same way when I had my second daughter. For 3 years it was just my hubby and me and my oldest daughter and she was my everything. You don't think you can love another child the same. But you do. This time around my girls are so excited so it helps with the guilt.

I don't feel guilty because she won't be an only child anymore. She BEGGED to become a big sister! I feel guilty because first trimester has zapped my energy and patience so I don't feel like I'm being the best mommy to her right now.

Like another woman said, I'm an only child and didn't want that for my son because I feel like I missed out on having that bond.

I'm pregnant with #2 and I don't think it's sunk in still that I'll have 2 kids! He's 3 years old so he's older but I stay home with him so I'm scared he will feel left out sometimes. He loves talking about the baby though! One time he put a grape in my belly button so he could "share with baby"

I know he's gonna be a great big brother and we'll all adjust to our new life.

I had this really bad with my 2nd. I just couldn't figure out how I could possibly love 2 children as much as I loved the one. Ds came & I was over the moon. Dd was 2 1/2 and she was an awesome big sister from the start, even tho she told my mom that "Corbin just gets on my nerves sometimes!" When he was abt 3 mos old. :-)

I'm on my third. The only people that get less attention are DH and I. My 2.5yo and 1yo have been in love with one another since day one. They scream and pine for one another when they're separated and often walk holding hands to their bedroom, glare at us and close their door to play together. Having two kids is amazing!

Ahh, the mom guilt.

There is a 10 year age gap between my first and my 2nd son. I felt guilty for not giving my oldest son a brother or sister to play with for 10 years.

I think having siblings is wonderful. Your children will learn to share, be more patient over time, and have a lasting bond with someone they will know and love their entire lives.

I feel guilty mostly because I'm too tired to play with him all the time, sometimes I fall asleep and he calls but I'm just sooooooo exhausted.

Also since we found out we are expecting twins I fear we are going to be insanely busy with the newborns... Both our families live in other countries so it's just my dh and me.

The Dr told me I can't carry him around anymore and he's only 2!!!

But I hope we'll manage and he'll be just as good as ever.

Oh AND her mother is expecting also! So sd will be getting 2 new siblings that are just a few months apart. Really big adjustment for her!

I'm feeling guilty too but this is my first! It's dh's 2nd though so I'm feeling guilty for that. Sd lives about 2,000 miles away from us, so I know it's hard for dh to be dad over Skype and only seeing her once a year. ? It just makes me feel guilty that our child will get dad full-time you know? I wanna keep her as involved as possible so she doesn't feel left out!

I grew up as an only child and wished for a sibling all the time. While your time with him might be shared now, you've given him a friend for life! :)

I was actually feeling a bit guilty this morning, but I know Charlie will be an awesome big sister and will adjust just fine. I love her so much, it's hard to think I could love anyone else as much!

Sometimes I feel the same way and I know I'm going to miss all the one on one and I'm sure he will too

But I LOVE having siblings and I am sooo thankful my parents gave me that! So I know my son will feel the same :)

I have a lot of guilt. Mostly cause I've been so sick that I lay down a lot and I feel like I am neglecting and not playing with my son as much as I should

I was worried about sharing time but I knew she would be happy to have a sibling. They LOVE each other. There is no greater gift your can give your child than a sibling IMO.

With my second and this one I just try to involve them as much as possible but the love that my two boys have for each other is so amazing they really love each other my older boy told me the other that his little brother is the love of his life lol he may get jealous but thats normal just try to spend some one on one time with them both and try to involve the older as much as possible anf judt make sure they know you love them both the same and they are special in there own ways. I also get a present for the older one and when the baby is born and they come to visit at the hospital. Say look what the baby got you! Having more then one the love they have for each other is so amazing and my favorite part. Dont worry everything will be fine. :)

I feel guilty at times. Seeing my daughter happy about being a big sister brings joy. Now she has her own sibling not just half siblings anymore
