So my DH is the youngest in his family by about 18 years (definitely a shock to his mother). His older brother has always looked out for him...offering money when DH was in college or in financial trouble etc. This brother also has a huge drinking problem...im talkin about disappearing for days on end, abusing his partner. His parents are elderly and cannot really handle this anymore.

That sounds like a very sucky situation, love. Obviously the problem is the brother-in-law. He has some issues that clearly need working out. Your SO has good reason to be upset over that behavior and that of his parents. I'm glad he stood up for you as any good partner should. Just support and love each other and maybe distance yourselves from everyone else in that family for a little while. You don't need the added stress while pregnant. Xo

h they all know he's an alcoholic. But his partner still drinks heavily around him...his parents refuse to confront him over it and blame everyone else. He's so arrogant too. His SO desperately wants a child but cant conceive. He doesn't wanna do adoption because, in his words, he doesn't wanna get landed with a "darkie" or "some indian". He doesnt deserve a child in my opinion :/ he guilt trips my DH allllll the time. So sick of it. Sorry for the long rant..it feels good getting it out tho :P thanks for listening x

Does your dh/SO cry in front of you? Dh is having an awful day and pretty much said he ended the relationship he has with his dad and one of his older brothers. They were constantly putting him down and dh got defensive and said some things to his brother and his dad took his brothers side and told dh that since he’s younger than he needs to respect his older brother. A lot more was said and it all started about taxes because his brother thinks he knows everything about owning a business and selling it.
