Does your dh/SO cry in front of you?
Dh is having an awful day and pretty much said he ended the relationship he has with his dad and one of his older brothers. They were constantly putting him down and dh got defensive and said some things to his brother and his dad took his brothers side and told dh that since he’s younger than he needs to respect his older brother. A lot more was said and it all started about taxes because his brother thinks he knows everything about owning a business and selling it.
@Ray I'm so sorry to hear that. I will be keeping your family in my prayers love?❤
Aww I feel awful for him.. all you can do for now is just be there for him. Give him what he needs whether it be space or someone to listen.. make his favorite meals, set up a bath.. just something a little extra special. Don't "baby" him tho of coarse cuz he seems like he's really hard on himself and he might feel patronized
yes my SO is very emotional has cried many a time I feel it is good for my boys to see
My SO cried to me this last week after finding out he has cancer. I held him and let him cry. Once I felt he was ready to hear what I had to say I reassured him how strong he is and how strong we are together. How his children need to learn from his experience that no matter what life throws at us we have no option but to be strong and get through this tough time. Annnnd tons of uplifting things about him, mostly giving more reason to live. I’ve been trying to keep everything positive and cheery although I’m terrified. I took him on a date last night and he had a great time.
Sometimes guys have to let it out too. Op, you are so awesome to send him out to have his time. I know he will appreciate it and hopefully it will help keep his mind off the drama.
@murdock, I could only imagine the strength and bond between you and your husband! I will always think your an inspiration even though I don't know you! ?
Op that was so sweet of you. I know he will really enjoy his time.
Dh has cried plenty of times in front of me. We have cried together as well. It’s so important to let the emotion flow out. It always helps and makes room for new growth.
He’s only cried maybe twice in front of me. Both times were over our relationship and whether to end things or not.
DH has cried on the phone when he was out of town a couple times and I had to relay what the Dr said about dd. She's his whole world anytime we are hit with hard to swallow news it can be very emotional for us
Another time I cant remember the conversation but his dad was dogging him out on the phone he's a real ass hole straight up and DH got emotional out of fustration and in so many words his dad told him to stop being a ? and man up because he could hear dh's voice cracking after hanging up with DH pulled the truck over cause he was driving and cried out of fustration from his dad and embrassesment and bent his steering wheel on his truck. I felt sooo bad I didn't know how to comfort him ?
Another time DH cried in front of me was because he said I was treating him different and he thought I didn't love him and he didn't know what he did wrong and he was just bottling up all his emotions and one day they just burst and he was sobbing asking me if there was someone else but there wasn't I didn't realize I was going through depression and had to be placed on medication I will be forever be grateful of him for that!! ?

Op, your an amazing wife!!
Mine cried in front of me once. While we were dating, his sister and I were pregnant together. We were due weeks apart. She had her baby and a few hours later, we got a call stating that the baby didn’t make it. While attending the funeral, his mom broke down screaming “God take me! I’m ready to go! Let Bria live and take me. It’s not fair! Take me! Take me!” I remember that because it caused everyone to break down. He cried so loudly and walked out of the church. It definitely broke my heart and I didn’t know what to say or do except be right there with him through it all, encouraging him and showing him love and support. It sounds like you are doing that. I bet the basketball event put him in a much better mood.
What you did sounds perfect. I hope he enjoyed himself ??
I’ve seen my husband cry a few times, most recently when my mom passed. I came out of the shower that night and he was in bed looking at a picture of her and just crying his eyes out. He had been strong for me that whole weekend through everything that happened and I never even thought about how he was doing.
Twice in 13 years.
Once when he proposed. Once when his BIL's brother was killed in a car crash.
For me it really shakes me to my core when a man I care a out cries because it's to such a rare thing. I'm sorry your DH is having a hard time. I know it has to be hard on you too.
My SO has cried in front of me. Usually he lays his head on either my lap or belly and ill scratch/rub his back. I just sit and listen untill he is ready for me to say something. He also knows in stressful situations i tend to lose all filters and turn into a smart ass because i dont handle stress well. (Totally his department) he has said hust knowing im there helps him work through it himself though.
His older sister passed away unexpectedly 1 year ago and they were extremely close he was and still is very upset about it and will cry sometimes telling stories about her
He's never cried to me on the phone - that would be more difficult. But he has cried about numerous things before and I just tell him how much I love him and hold him close.
I tell him all the time that he’s such a great person and has a kind heart. I really just hope he knows that.
I’ll talk to him later when he gets home and when our kids are in bed.
You should tell him exactly what you said here. That he’s a great dad and husband and provider and you don’t know what you would do without him (sounds like you already do)!
He was talking about a basketball team where you play every Sunday with your team a few weeks ago. But said he wasn’t going to do it because that 50$ could go toward diapers or something else we need. I called his friend that’s on the team and paid for it earlier so that’s where he is now ❤️.
He came home and I laid out his gym clothes and told him that he needs to be at this address at 7. I hope he enjoys it and comes back and not depressed.
He never does anything for himself so I felt this was perfect opportunity for me to surprise him.
I just don’t know exactly what to say to him when he was crying. I’ve always told him that life wouldn’t be life if we didn’t struggle somewhere and that we will get through it. When he was crying, I wanted to tell him things but it’s like I froze and just listened to him poor his heart out.
Pp, geez I couldn’t imagine!! ?? your poor dh and everything he’s gone through.
Awww!! My hubby is the same way, great father, hard worker - he hates feeling like he failed. He's cried a lot in front of me - he's also a vet with 2 tours in Iraq & Afghanistan, and has PTSD; he has lost 5 brothers to suicide. My only advice is just be there for him, just let him know you'll always be there for him.
Aww I feel terrible for him. Men have emotions and are just as stressed and burdened as women are. He seems to be very hard on himself. Maybe you and the boys can do something special for him to show him you appreciate him. What are his interests?
Still haven't told DH...
...that we're expecting! ? Tonight we were at dinner with my brother and SIL and they just had a baby 4 weeks ago. She said something about babies and DH replies, with such an attitude, "uh no! Never again, we are done!"
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Would you consider this cheating? What would you do
I need advice from a neutral stand point. Genuine advice of what you would do. Ds had his tonsils out last night. For some reason my gut about dh was not good. At night I logged into his Snapchat and saw he was talking to an old friend who he had a thing with. Last thing I was able to see was him saying it was hard to not log into those pictures and she then said she couldn't answer the phone because she was with her husband. I texted dh and a...
Lastnight I was talking to my father in laws girl friend about the situation with my husband. She told his dad about it and he texted rick😒. Well I asked him what he said to his dad and he said "nothing, I didn't want to make you look like a fool for telling me to leave"! Little does he know that his dad agreed with me that I was right to tell him to leave! He said that he appreciates me taking such good care if his son and grandbabies and I'm like a daughter to him and if I ever need him to wAt...
Men's rights
With all this women's rights stuff going on I thought it'd be nice to acknowledge what unfair things men have to go through. I was talking to dh about this. He said it'd be nice to either have a changing table in men's rooms or more family restrooms available. I agree, what about dads out and about? Or single dads with their kids?
Tell him everything you told us about him being a great father & a hard worker. I’m sure it’ll life his spirits. I’ve only seen my husband cry a handful of times in 12+ years, but it is heartbreaking each time. He just needs to know that you love & support him unconditionally.
