5 hours.

5 hours. That's how much longer I have to wait. It's been an extremely long week since I went to the ER and they found an empty sac. It's been 3 days since I found out my HCG levels had dropped by about 7000. Today I go see my doctor, get another ultrasound, and find out for sure what's going on. I should be 9w1d based on my lmp. I was measuring 6 weeks last Tuesday. My SO and I are fully expecting the worst news, we have tried to prepare hearing it as much as we can, but I know it's going to be a rough day.

Ultrasound is still measuring 6 weeks. Sac and yolk seen, but nothing else. I knew what to expect but it still surprised me. I guess I let myself get hopeful even though I knew better.

I've been diagnosed (I guess) with a blighted ovum. We were given three options, wait, medication, or surgery. We aren't sure which route to take but if anyone has any experiences or advice, I'm all ears.

I waited weeks and nothing happened and so i got the meds, not all of it came out and so i ended up with the dnc which was half the price of an actual birth for us, but it was over and done with and we could move on. The meds are hard because your going thru this mini birth on your own in your bathroom. The dnc was ok because the meds they give wear off quickly and the staff was very sensitive to the significance of the procedure.

I’m so sorry, OP. I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage when I was a little over 10 weeks back in May. I had prepared myself for the worst and when I didn’t see a heartbeat I knew what had happened. Hearing it from the doctor, though, still hurt a lot. It made it real and final.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Take the time to grieve, it really helped for me to get out of the house but to go to a quiet space. I took the medication because I had already waited almost two weeks and I didn’t want a d&c. It was also the only option where my husband could’ve been with me. I was prescribed Percocet because of how painful it can be. I had strong cramping but no nausea or any of the side effects that were listed and passed my baby after 4-5 hours. I took the entire 800 mcg at once though.

Whichever path you choose, we’ll all be here for you through this. ❤️ Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions and again I want to express my condolences.

I’ve had a blighted ovum and I did the dnc. That was 6 years ago and last weekend I had a miscarriage. It stinks. I’m sorry you are going through this!

Thanks ladies. I definitely don't want to wait. It's been a hard enough wait as it is and we're ready to move forward. We are stuck between the meds and the procedure. Originally we were leaning towards the medication route but I need to keep in mind I have 3 toddlers at home, too. I would really just prefer it to be over with as soon as possible. This is such a difficult decision.

I had a very similar situation back in July. I opted for the medication and ended up having retained tissue two weeks later and had to have an emergency d&c. The recovery from that was fairly easy and I ended up getting pregnant the first cycle after. I'm now 12 weeks. I would recommend going straight for the d&c and just get it all over with.

My friend went with surgery. She said it was super quick but she also couldn't try again for 3 months so not sure if they talked about that option. Plus with medication wouldn't it still have to pass through you? Not sure how that would work.

I've had 2 miscarriages, both happened and completed on their own. If I were in your position and had to choose I'd do the d&c rather than the meds

I've had 3 missed miscarriages. I opted for the d&c with all of them as it had already been weeks since the heartbeats had stopped and my body wasn't doing anything about it. For me I just wanted to get it over with and start the healing process. They give you the twilight drugs and you wake up and it's over. The medication route you're waiting and it can be painful. With the surgery I had slight cramping but nothing reg ibuprofen couldn't take care of. We were able to start trying again after one cycle.

I have had a blighted ovum. Started to miscarry naturally on my own but it wasn't complete so needed a d&c. I wish I'd have just had the procedure to begin with. So sorry you're going through this.

Starting TWW. Anyone else?

Starting TWW. Anyone else? I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
