High Blood Pressure, how high is too high?

Preeclampsia doesn't get diagnosed till after 20 weeks normally. Commonly happens in third trimester (there are exceptions), which happened to me with both my pregnancies, 2nd not so bad. Sorry your having problems early on. When monitoring my BP I was told 140/90 is the cut off for high blood pressure, I too was on labetalol but not as early as you.

Mine was due to pre-e.

Out of nowhere high BP (it had never happened before) that made my OB nervous was 150/100, but I always run 110's/70's so that was a big change for me. When I was sent to L&D triage for it, I was told to stay below 140/90.

They got real upset when I came in for a regular weekly appt. and was 200/120. They induced me that day.

EDIT- they didn't start screaming "pre-e!" Until I had the ridiculously high BP, spilled 3+ protein in my urine, had bodywide swelling, and gained 12 lbs. in a week.

I also went to a normal doctor appointment, had trace amounts of protein in urine and blood pressure 130/90 and was told that was normal for me... Um no. I usually have perfect 120/60 blood pressure. That was also the first time I got lectured on weight gain- 8 pounds in a week. Told me to eat smaller meals...

Two days later I was in the ER doe excessive swelling that wouldn't go down and blood pressure 140/98, and urine over 3. Got admitted and have spent the last 10 days in the hospital. With the preeclampsia and the baby's growth restriction, I'm here now until delivery. Which is looking like tonight or tomorrow. Blood work keeps showing liver enzyme counts are creeping up.

Preeclampsia does often mean delivering early :(

My last appt. bp was staying around 160/100 the doctor sent me to l&d for monitoring. I was sent home and am taking 200mg of labetalol every 3 hours and I've been monitoring my bp every 4 hours and they have been averaging 130/70. Nurse called to check up and was very happy with those numbers. Doctor wants to keep baby in as long as possible. Anxious to see what he says at my next appt. which is Friday I'll be 37+5.

If your getting lower readings at home , it could be anxiety at the dr making it higher! I do this . And i have had pre e 3 times before . Closer to the end . It will get better prayers for you!

I've been put on Labetalol since 11 weeks due to my blood pressure being high. I was borderline pre e with my first so my doctor is trying to do what he can in order for the same issues to not arise. the medicine has helped keep my blood pressure in check so hopefully it'll help you as well ?

I had preeclampsia with my first at 37 weeks. I'm 22 weeks now and started pregnancy on 100 mg of lane tell. Well at 22 weeks my bp is at 160/102 home and at dr office. They increased my meds but my dr wouldn't reduce my work hours at all. They did increase my meds though. My protein is 245 so not at the 300 level. I'm just confused bc some women get put on bed rest early and induced at my level. I am going to cut back at work on my own bc I want the baby to make it as long as possible. Just concerned that my readings are that high this early .
