My 4 yr old, almost 5, is sick right now. I took him to his doctor Friday and he just said what he has is viral but its not the flu. It started off as just a really raspy cough and now this morning, he's been crying to me that his stomach hurts. ? He's threw up twice now, and it's just water. I tried giving him crackers and he threw that up too. Any suggestions on what I can feed him and if there's any medication I could give? He's a little warm, but no fever.

I wouldn't feed him unless he asks, then just like applesauce. Just enough water to keep from being dehydrated

I wouldn't worry about food, just make sure he's drinking water and staying hydrated. If he wants to eat stick with the BRAT diet. Bananas rice applesauce and toast.

Could definitely be a stomach bug. Lots of people have been posting about it so it sounds like it’s definitely going around.
I wouldn’t bother with food at the moment. Just small sips of water to stay hydrated.
And a small temp is ok and I wouldn’t medicate for that - unless of course he’s burning up.

You could try a little toast, but I would focus on sips of water for hydration rather than food.
We just had a virus run through our house and lived on toast, applesauce and ginger ale. It’s miserable.

The best thing to do is not feed him right now and try to keep fluids in him. If you keep feeding him and he throws it up he’s just going to end up really dehydrated. Just have him sip on Gatorade, 7-up, ginger ale, maybe some watered down apple juice. Just a few sips and see if he keeps it down and give him more if he does. Try food again way later after he’s been keeping down fluids. At that point I would just try a little chicken noodle soup with him mostly just drinking the broth and some crackers.

Ugh it’s a nasty stomach virus. My whole family had it over Christmas. I wouldn’t feed him just little sips of water at a time. Or pedilyte or Gatorade. Hopefully the rest of the family doesn’t get it but be prepared for that unfortunately u all probably will. Sorry

If he can't hold down liquids have him drink gatorade without diluting it. He should be able to keep it down
