C section questions How long does it take for a spinal to wear off? And does trying to move my legs as much as I can…

I remember feeling and moving my legs during the hour long recovering.

It did not hurt at all when they took the catheder out, I was hoping they would leave it in longer so I wouldn't have to get up and pee all the time.

The iv hurts when they put it in but I didn't notice it much after that. By the time all this is happening you will be so ready for the baby to be here that you probably won't even notice the pain much. I don't remember how long I had the iv in, I know it wasn't the whole time I was in the hospital.

During your c-section is probably the scariest part of it all but it only lasts about an hour. I remember shaking a lot so ask the dr or the gas guy for something to calm you down. Also, try your hardest not to look up at the light above you because it can be a mirror and you don't want to see that.

Hi I actually don't remember too much of the first few days after my c section but I remember walking to the bathroom on the 2nd night shakily but walking lol and in regards to the catheter don't worry I was worrying about that too but honest it didn't hurt it's just a weird feeling.

I think they kept mine in for a few days.

And with breast feeding I think it's how you feel you can do it to begin with after a section because it's so damn hard to move about. I think my first day breast feeding was just the normal baby lying on her side in my arms.

I had an epidural for about 8 hours and could not move my legs at all during those hours the nurses had to move them for me ... I believe after I had my unscheduled c section it took about an hour or two for feeling to regain. You will get the shakes so make sure to ask for warm blankets.

The catheter does not hurt when removed and I don't believe the IV did either. I had that the whole time I was in there.

Make sure I take pain meds when you can have them. I tried to tough it out and ended up in more pain then needed.

I found the football hold worked best for me for nursing but only because that's the only way I could get him to latch ... They say it takes longer for C Section moms and babies to actually be able to breastfeed so dong give up or get upset ... It took about 3 days till he actually latched on and fed and for my milk to come in. In the mean time I pumped and he got fed thru a syringe what colostrum I could pump.

You should be up walking within a couple hours, I don't remember exactly how long it takes to wear off but it shouldn't be long. I believe they took the cath out before it even wore all the way off so it shouldn't hurt, I don't remember having any pain from it and they should take your IV out pretty quickly too so it's not in the way of you trying to take care of your baby. I'll be having my fourth c-section in April. Good luck to you!!
