Did he just say that?....

So ladies my fiance just told me that if he can pull a 12hr factory shift then he could handle pregnancy...

my bf works two jobs. averages about 90 hours a week. and it's factory work- loading and unloading trucks and such. he tells me all the time that he knows he could never handle being pregnant. in fact, he said that he'd rather work a third job so i can stay home than to ever trade places with me.

My husband said that unless his 12 hour shift makes him push out a bowling ball through his rectum that causes his bones to shift, then it's comparable to pregnancy lol!

Working 12-16 hour shifts 5-7 days a week at the sawmill was easier for me than being pregnant. No heat or AC and 15 minute breaks.

12 shift is a cake walk. I worked 8 hours a day while in labor the whole last month. While at work I had to chase down kids, got punched or kicked in the stomach, and had to physically restrain kids who were bigger than me and weighed more than I did.

How about a 24 hour shift for 40 weeks?! Try that one sucker.

Just put it this way

If men could handle pregnancy and childbirth then their body would of been made to allowed it

There is a reason why its only the women's body who can ;)

Ответить

He could possibly handle it, but to compare it to a factory job? hell no. you work hard, yes but you get time off! you leave and do what you want. With pregnancy you never get a break. your body is always changing and it never stops.. just get more and more uncomfortable.

I'm sure my hubs could. I bet he wouldn't complain either. He puts up with a lot from me

I've had terrible kidney inf and I had appedicitis where my appendix ruptured and let me tell you labor was a billion times more painful than both of those... through my whole pregnancy until I was put off work fir threatened pre term labor I worked 11hr shifts... theres a very good reason women are the ones who have the babies.

Ответить

yup ask him if he's had terrible diarrhea/gas pains you know the ones that stop you in your tracks well amplify that by 1000x and add someone punching you in the spine the whole time remember this lasts hours or some times days... big factor not to forget thats just the labor part of it this doesn't unclude the 9m pregnancy which is a bundle of a lot of other not so pleasant issues

Kidney stones are pretty bad. And you don't get anything lovable afterwards. I told my hubby next time he is carrying the baby. He said no thanks.

Pregnancy is 24/7.

Like pp said. We don't get weekends off or vaca days.

HELL! I can't drink wine or beer or have cocktails, I can't eat a hamburger anymore, I can barely keep down food. Every strong smell makes me sick. My tail bone is killing me and I can never poop.

My face looks like a battle zone. My boobs hurt, it's like there's a forest fire on my nipples. I can never sleep and then I can't stop being sick during the day.

I use to pull doubles while I was a server during college. YEA RIGHT. Not the same. My hubs works 14 hours plus a day and is still tell him to hush if he complained. No sir. He is wrong!

Lol, I always tell my hubs that child birth would end with him having to push a grapefruit out his pee hole and he doesn't want to hear it and he says he's glad it's me and not him lol

you should clue him in on the fact that you cant clock out of pregnancy everyday.

I worked in a factory. Pregnancy is harder.

Haha! What a joke. Tell him I worked in a hospital, 12 hr NIGHT shifts at that during my entire pregnancy...up until 1 day before I went into labor. I was still having to lift people twice my size (with help of course but still..), pushing hospital beds with people in them across the entire hospital and up and down different floors, exposed to infectious diseases and every bodily substance known to man, screamed at, kicked and punched at, running around in a highly active and demanding ER all while expected to maintain my cool and with only a 30 min. Lunch beak. Throw in all your lovely pregnancy symptoms and you get the picture.

Tell him I'll take him on any day and win. One night of that ish and he'd have his ass HANDED TO HIM.

Yep and we do all of that while still working a 12 hour shift at a factory/waiting tables/security/ect...

Ответить

I used to work 12 hour shifts in a 4-story maximum security male prison running up & down stairs all day, with only a 30-minute lunch break. NOTHING compared to the stamina needed to work a shift waiting tables while pregnant, and definitely not comparable to my 22 hour labor and pushing a 9 lb 3 oz baby out. Tell him to shut up.

Ugh, they are SOO ignorant! it's like they think creating human life us no big deal! tell him, that after months of sleepless nights, nausea, cramps, braxon Hicks, nipples on fire, mood swings we THEN go through labor! it's like pushing a bowling ball through a garden hose! a good equivalent for him would be this: tell him if he could "handle " a pushing a honeydew out of his urethra!

im loving these!!! ugh.... men. lmao

Ответить

make him take hormones for awhile and push him to his very limit and then let him know he still can't snap when it gets to be to much all while trying not to stress cuz it's bad for baby... also give him stitches in his ass

Ответить

let him also go thru all this yet take away everything that he enjoys (like no beer after that stressful shift to unwind, etc). advise him everything he wants to do or eat is "bad for baby" and he cant have it!

I made my hubby wear a backpack in the front and I added a bunch of stuff in it to make it about 25 pounds and make him go on a walk with me. about five mins in he was complaining about his back hurting lol only women can handle it!!

A twelve hour shift is nothing compared to a nine month "shift"! ?

Ответить

Tell him to carry a 7-9 lb bowling ball between his legs for a day. Then let us know how he feels. Oh and let his bladder not hold more than a ml of liquid. Pee himself at any given moment. And push a watermelon out of his butt hole ?.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
