Happily for 13 and 1/2 years. And I guess you could say submissive.

Happily married Submissive house wife here. ?

Before I got married I was given advice by three married couples I love and admire. My paternal grandparents who were together for about 70 years, my maternal grandparents who just celebrated 64 years and my aunt/uncle who are like my parents who celebrated 32 years. The three of them all practiced the role of the woman being submissive and it seemed to work for them. I know it isn't for everyone but it has been successful for me so far for nearly a decade so I will roll with it. ?

I have a happy marriage.

I am submissive to my DH, but he is also Submissive to me. We work as a team, communicate, compromise, support, and empower each other.

My husband is my best friend???

Forgot to add that my parents have been happily married for 44 years. So there must be something to it

I am happy. I am also married. I think that is the key, whatever you bring to the relationship, that's is what it will be. You get back what you put in.

My husband puts his marriage and children first. Guess what? I don't have to be one step behind him to have that faith in him.

I agree that type of marriage isn't for everyone but I also don't believe there is a one mold fits all in human relationships. (Ie women are to blame.)

I'm not some crazy feminist that runs from the housewife role. I am a fantastic mother, wife and career woman. My life is great with my views set in place. I respect everyone and how they choose to live their life.

I agree with red. I have a perfectly healthy marriage that thrives. We are equals. We are partners that stand side by side.

I respect my husbands decisions. He is the head of our household. It's about respect. My vocation in life was to be his wife. Along with that comes a duty to be respectful and loyal to my husband.

I'm submissive when needed. But in a lot of areas he is the submissive one.

Give and take.

I'm opposite from llbillingsley. My husband and I have been together 8 years and we both step outside of the traditional male and female roles because we are equals and bring different qualities to the relationship. I think it makes a wonder of differences that we were best friends before we dated so one of our strengths has always been communication and genuinely enjoying each other's company.

Can yall explain what a submissive marriage is?

Llbilingsley- That's exactly what she believes. That we ultimately have the power by being submissive.

I agree that men are more simple and women are just so dramatic and read too much into things. So I agree they are more complicated. The friendships I've had with men have been more simple. However, it takes the two of them to make a successful relationship

She says men are simple and women over complicate things.

I agree with you pp on communication

Yes. In my sole opinion - we hold the power to a successful marriage. Period.

Edited to add - I believe in a submissive relationship. Submission doesn't meant giving up the power. It's quite the opposite. It's about respect.

I think when communication gets broken then that makes or breaks the marriage. Not gender.
