I had my anatomy scan for the baby and she says that she seen a “white spot” on my baby’s heart. Another doctor came in and said it’s nothing to be worried about and that most of the time it goes away. Has anyone else experienced this?

They found a cyst on our babies brain at my 20 week anatomy scan. Had another one at 24 weeks and it was gone. I know it's not exactly the same but the dr said it's also very common and most of the time resolves itself. There was a slight chance it was an indication of trisomy 18 as well but all else looked good with baby! Try to stay positive for baby and trust in God. 🙂

Y’all have really helped me. I wish the doctor didn’t say anything about. I was worried but now I feel better about it.

This happened to my sister when she was pregnant. They had her totally freaked out. She had to go to high risk doctors and they basically said the baby could have chromosomal disorders but they won’t actually know until birth. She was so freaked out the entire time and filled with anxiety. But my niece is so beautiful and didn’t have anything wrong with her. I attached a picture.

@jlbcollins1109 When they noticed it they looked at her heart for about that long and explained to me why and said they didn't see anything wrong. It's still shows up because I go to a specialist for preterm labor now every week and they tell me don't worry it's nothing and she will be fine.

@jlbcollins1109, that’s exactly what my doctor said to me. I asked why she had not mentioned it in any of the previous scans she had done and why the high risk doctor saw it and she didn’t. She said she did see it and had it in my file but that she was not even going to tell me since there were no other indicators that something could be wrong and it was unnecessary stress for me.

@chelseaz, the second doctor says that she didn’t even want to tell me about it because it causes a unnecessary anxiety.

@naturalgalt, the second doctor was trying to reassure me that everything would be fine. But the doctor that did the ultrasound made me very nervous. She looked at the heart for about 10min before she moved on to the rest of the baby’s body.

I was told the same thing when I was pregnant with my son. They monitored it and it was there the entire pregnancy, but he was born happy and healthy. The high risk doctor I saw had me worried about it because he said it’s linked to chromosome disorders, but my regular obgyn said she sees them all the time in her patients babies and that she doesn’t even consider it as an indicator of anything anymore. She said she believes they see them more often now because of improved technology and that many healthy babies have them.

Yes I have. It's been there for a couple of months and I see a specialist and they examined her heart throughly and said everything was fine with her heart and not to be concerned and it will go away.
