Hey breastfeeding mamas sooooo I need some suggestions on how to increase milk supply I’m breastfeeding every 2-3 hours and pumping as well but my baby has a hard time latching so I use a latch guard which helps but I still feel like my milk flow isn’t what it should be I really want to keep breastfeeding and pumping cause I know it’s best for my babe but want to produce more so I don’t have to supplement with formula
@josephnjoanna0515, I just bought it how many times do u drink it a day and how soon did u start noticing a difference??? 👶🏻
@zoeyriley31214 you should also try a haakaa, they sell them on the Wish app and Amazon I believe and while you're breastfeeding on the other side you can have it on there and it saves about 2 oz of milk while you're feeding your son on one side instead of just letting it drip onto the breast pads
@kambam, oh sorry I read your text wrong .... I’m going to a lactation specialists and they gave me the latch assist because my son was having a hard time latching
I know the shield works but you need to get him off. It's only supposed to be a last effort, short term tool.
But after I started formula my Supply went down because I felt when I looked at the formula I'm like I don't have to pump as much because he has food right there so it ended up ending in me just giving him straight formula which I absolutely hate myself for that but this time around I most definitely sticking to breastfeeding since I know what I did wrong the first time but when I got started on trying to get my Supply back that's what the doctor told me about the golden hour and lots of water
@zoeyriley31214 when I first started breastfeeding I was doing very well on my own until I came across the nipple shield and since my nipples were really chapped and hurting I tried it and ever since that day he hasn't been getting as much milk as he should he wasn't gaining any weight and what the doctor told me was that with the nipple shields it makes them work harder to get the milk out, which makes them tired more faster and only on the nipple for a short amount of time and me not having inverted nipples or nothing wrong with my nipples I shouldn't have tried the nipple shield but after that I started substituting with formula because I didn't want my son to have to wait for me to get home to have to pump some out and I ended up just pumping to give him through bottle instead of breastfeeding all together
@mother.of.2, really ??? I’ve haven’t heard of that my baby is usually up during that time so I breastfeed with the latch assist but he’s still hungry even after 15 minutes on each side
@kambam, yes that’s what I have he does well with the latch assist just feel like I’m not producing enough milk
Try Power pumping at the golden hour I think the golden hour is between 2 and 4
I would get off the nipple shield asap. If baby isn't effectively drawing milk from your breast you can't produce what you're supposed to. The shield helps baby latch but makes baby less efficient.
The more u nurse, the more milk you’ll produce. It’s hard but possible. Hot showers and soup should work.
I would drink it 3 times a day and I started noticing the difference within a couple of days
