So moms after doing research and looking at them I’m pretty sure I have inverted nipples😭 sorry if this is tmi.. but i really hope it doesn’t effect me being successful breastfeeding. My first son did latch i just didn’t keep latching him and my milk never came in.
@lovelyjane, ok thank you! I saved them on my amazon so i can purchase them soon
@kaela3, this one is a shield so I would wear them in my bra during the day since the first week was stupid rough with soreness. To protect my nipples and it just pushes your nipples out with the light pressure from your bra. And I would just take them out at night and remove for feedings which is what my lactation consultant told me to do. I used them for about two weeks until my nipples got with the program
I had to use a nipple shield for that reason. My son didn’t like a real nipple he preferred a fake one like the shield or a bottle or pacifier. Definitely do tons of research and speak with a location consultant and you should be fine 😊
@lovemygirls18, right that is true. And my son was preemie & he dropped a lot of weight and my
Milk still hadnt came in and he was really cranky so i gave in and gave him formula. I’m hoping this child stays in till 37 weeks so he won’t be preemie like his brother was
@lovemygirls18, yeah i wanted to purchase a few just to have them on hand in case they do work for me. Who knows he could breastfeed just fine but i just want to have stuff in hand in case he needs some help
@kaela3, no I agree. My twins had to have both BM mixed with a preemie formula so they could gain weight. I understand. I had no issues at all pumping with inverted nipple so that's def an option but I do think you will be able to find a way to breast feed him. The ladies I saw were great and had lots of advice.
@cr131418, yeah idc how he gets it as long as he can get breastmilk from me rather than formula! My son was formula fed so i have nothing against it I’d just rather have this one get breastmilk if he can
@lulu85_18, yeah i didn’t get much help with my first son I’m deff gonna push this time. And i want to get a hand pump too before he’s here in case i need to use it because i had nothing with my son. I was completely clueless honestly
@cr131418, i feel like my left one is deff worse than my right!! My right one looks more normal. And that sucks 😩 i hope i can st least for the first few months of his life!
@kaela3, that doesn’t like a very good nurse. My nurse saw my son was having trouble feeding and got me a lactation consultant. There are so many resources that the hospital has. Take advantage of them! 🙂
@lovelyjane, do you put them on before you feed every time? I’ve heard about them and was looking into to get something because i want to be successful this time.
It shouldn't. I have one inverted nipple as well and it was a little tougher to breast feed my son but was also the first time I got to breast feed and my son didn't have any issues (he also never ate before as well due to his conditions in the nicu) but the lactation specialist told me different ways to help if I kept breast feeding , sadly I lost my supply so had to use all the milk I had stored.
@lulu85_18, ok thanks! Online it said to see if they come out a little bit when you pull back and they did come out a little bit but not like fully like an actual nipple is suppose too. I’ve never really cared what my nipples looked like till now cause i want to be successful breastfeeding 😂 and when i had my son the nurse never said anything to me about having inverted/ flat nips 🤔 when you can clearly tell looking at them lol
I would definitely consult with a lactation consultant when you’re in the hospital. They are a big help. Medela sells breast shields that help with this. I’m sure they will have other tips for you.
Don’t let that discourage you. You can still nurse if you want to. My milk took awhile to come in. I had to have my son to latch every two hours.
Did any moms breastfeed if so how long?I was only able to breastfeed my son for a week or two weeks I had a hard time getting him to latch and I would bleed when he wasnt latched right and they would hurt so bad and leak so much ....any suggestions or tips?🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Why won't my daughter latch i am sick of pumping :(
The one thing I wanted to be able to do with and for my daughter, I can’t seem to do without the help of a LC... I can’t seem to get her to latch like they do and all my family is telling me to do is switch to formula.. I can’t help but cry at the thought of all of this...
@kaela3, also it collects your milk in there which helps with the leaking everywhere lol just make sure the holes are always up or else your going to be wet a lot rofl
