Having some serious thoughts about moving out of Hackney 🤔 my partner went to pick up Stan yesterday from school, got home was About to enter the block and some 15 year old try to rob him in front of stan and it’s not the first time this kind of thing has happened , it’s absolutely disgusting the kind of world we live in

@mum2sky Oooooo Dont get me started on older generations 😂😂😂 they all bought there houses when mortgages were 4 times your yearly wage. If that was the case now we would all be on at least £100grand a year. Fucking ridiculous. It actually makes me want to scream!!!

@kayteamay it's so so true. And when I say this to older people they try to call me a snowflake. Fuck off. My 1 bedroom flat in a disgusting block of druggies costs 1200 a month! I know people in their 50s plus that bought their 3 bedroom houses in London for 5 grand. I just can't believe what has happened to house prices. I'm better off moving out of London and trying to buy a property there at least I'll get a garden lol

@mum2sky alot of my friends still live in London (mostly around Hackney) and they are either still at home with parents or paying over £1000 rent for tiny properties. I own my house and pay just around £400 a month for my mortgage and its a huge 3 bed house with a garden in a good area. They are shocked when i tell them. London prices are disgusting and so unfair on our generation. I dont know how anyone is expected to buy anymore.

@kayteamay yeah those areas I would kill to live there. I was having this discussion with my mum the other day and right now with me not working I can't afford it and tbh when I do start working I don't think the properties in London are even worth 3/4 of my wages. I want to move out it's just getting my foot out of the door I'm struggling with x

@mum2sky i lived on the harringey ladder and there was always something kicking off! I lived in islington before that which was lovely. My parents live out in Enfield now which is a great place but theres no way we could afford to live in London.

@sarahlucindagiddins, obviously the school thing makes it difficult, but if you’re happy to switch their schools then it makes it easier. Plus as you say, the rent is extortionate! That’s half the reason we moved up here because it’s so much cheaper, down there is ridiculous and minimum wage is the same regardless of where you are. My partner and his family moved from Edmonton to Essex Cos everyday it was someone new getting killed! X

I hear such bad things about London, my sister (in law)moved out of their to cuffley but still goes to Wood Green often for shopping. A few months ago she got mugged In broad daylight while my 2 year old niece was in her pram. Absoloutely disgusting! Have you thought about moving just outside of London? @kayteamay, I remember the first time I went to woodgreen- craig said to me just don’t look at anyone. I was like are you joking?! 😂 walked round the corner and there were flowers outside of a flat right next to the police station, safe to say I didn’t make eye contact with anyone lol

@sarahlucindagiddins I think west London is nice and some parts of north more like Camden areas not so much wood green. I live near Ealing and I love it here. Hayes and Uxbridge is nice it's close to like reading sides or even Hammersmith is lovely maybe have a look there. Oh and Chiswick x

@isabellaboo, it’s alright we’re making it work with lots of saving and budgeting, definitely and it makes me so angry when you see all the people in the parliament earning ridiculous amounts and only raising their own wages or the unnecessary amounts footballers earn makes my blood boil xx

@gabilicious, god literally makes you not want to work! Feel so bad for you, the second our wages go in they go out again its rare we have money 'left' over that you can generally enjoy. This world is so unfair xx

@isabellaboo, it is, that’s why I’m staying at home until Oliver is entitled to childcare otherwise I’d have completely nothing left, I’m going back to college in September to get another qualification so hopefully the college said they might be able to help out a bit, honestly they literally expect you to work to your death, my husband works his ass off done 12 days straight so far with no days off and he won’t even be able to enjoy his hard earned money at the end of the month as it’ll all go on rent and bills xx

@gabilicious, that's so ridiculous, even if you did work you would have to pay for childcare and wouldn't get any help from the council and both your wages would get taxed 😱 honestly so hard trying to balance everything nowa days xx

@isabellaboo, they don’t care especially with me not working now either it’s tough, we paid £142 council tax a month for last year god knows what they gonna want this year, we also got 2 different water bill and they come up to £48 a month xx

@isabellaboo, nope nowhere near, if my husband doesn’t do overtime he only gets £1200 a month and even now they’re planning to cut the hourly wage, we get a little help from the council, not even gonna start on the council tax literally takes the piss xx

@sarahlucindagiddins that's so messed up. I would've been so angry I can't imagine how he felt. Omg wow that's expensive! In my area my flat is 1200 for a 1 bed. I know east is probably the cheapest along with South but both areas are kind of dangerous I'm just thinking you obviously want to be close to their schools. What about around west ham? X

@mum2sky, it’s horrible when my partner told me about it he was like it was a silly teenager that thought he was a big man, my partner didn’t even have anything on him, Its horrible to think about ☹️, I would still like to live in London but everywhere is so expensive, I’m living in a private flat now that’s on the 12th floor and my rent is £1500 a month so somewhere cheaper would be great lol x
