Ok so on Friday I went to the bathroom to blow my nose and this is going to sound stupid but I didn't realize I had both nostrils closed and when I blew it, I blew hard and my ear popped really loud and pain shot through it. It hurt so bad I almost hit the floor. Well I went and got some ear drops but they didn't help at all. Well the pain eased just enough that I could sleep that night. I woke up the next morning with my ear hurting and so I decided to try the ear drops again which to no surprise didn't work. Well when I pulled the cotton ball out of my ear, there was blood on it. I started panicking and I went to the doctor. She said my ear was full of infection so bad that she couldn't see my ear drum. She said she thinks I busted it. She gave me some pills for the infection and a shot for pain and it helped. My ear hasn't hurt since then. She wants me to come back tomorrow to see if the infection has gone away so she can see my ear drum. I'm just wondering if maybe it was just an ear infection because I don't think the shot for pain she gave me would last this long. Oh well I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

@lovelily Yeah she told me that the infection is what's causing it to bleed and that I could possibly have to have surgery but I don't think it's that bad. She gave me a shot of Toradol on Saturday and it hasn't hurt since.

The infection probably resulted from fluid that was released from behind the ear drum. Usually fluid can get behind the drum and to release the fluid the doctors tell you to blow and pop the ear. You may have blown too hard and busted it, which explains the blood. I have had this happen once, many years ago. It's definitely painful but it can heal.
