So, I only came back to use you all 😈
I've recently been having a lot of swelling just walking to the bathroom, terrible headaches and vision changes. I made sure to notice my blood pressure at my appointment earlier and it was normal, 117/72. Out of curiosity, I Googled signs of preeclampsia (stupid, I KNOW) and noticed that I had other signs that I brought up to my doctor today. He told me one was just anxiety and the other he gave me Oxycodone for. I'm going to be transferring to another OB tomorrow (this one isn't taking other issues serious at all), but I'm hoping to put my mind at ease. I don't need anymore complications, there's no way I could have a normal blood pressure with Pre-E right??
@pipelinemama that's the thing though, my blood pressure is normal.
I had high bp without the protein and not have pre e, But the description what you had said is how my husband gets with just regular high blood pressure. I know that doesn’t help much but if you don’t go to L&d I’d talk to your dr if your blood pressure is high is to get you on medication for it, they had me on the lowest dosage and aren’t harmful to the baby. Closer to the end I was put on bed rest and was told to cut out sodium completely to aid the swelling
@worlds.okayest.mom, yes I would get one just to be safe put your mind at easy to... but don’t go crazy taking it I did and my doctor told me to stop lol he said twice a day at the same times cause when it is high we get anxiety about it which cause it to raise to
@worlds.okayest.mom, my first pregnancy was like that. Many complications. 😐 but worth it all ❤️
@ace160 I was considering getting a blood pressure cuff when this all started, but now I need to seriously order one.
I had high blood pressure both pregnancy it never turned into preeclampsia my blood pressure was around what yours was my bottom number was higher and I had horrible migraines and dizziness and I was lighthead I would definitely go see another doctor and if it gets worse I would call labor and delivery mine told me to go buy a blood pressure cuff and check it in the morning and once at night I was told anything above 160/110 to go in
@halifax6 thank you mama 😁
@morganmommy79 I'm going to get some dip sticks tomorrow and test my protein. I know people like to blame everything on pregnancy or dehydration or anything else, but I carry around a 32 ounce cup all day and refill it 6 times a day. And I have had so many complications this pregnancy that I'm always just preparing for the worst.
I had pre eclampsia with my first. I had bad swelling and vision changes but my blood pressure was always high every visit. I was put on temporary bed rest because of it. I also had to lay on my left side constantly in order to bring my blood pressure down. Even through labor the dr wouldn't let me move off my left side until he had hoped gravity would move labor along. It did. I also had protein in my urine. Def nothing to take lightly.
@worlds.okayest.mom if things get worse, headache can't be controlled by tyelenol or/and caffeine, and the vision gets worse, you should definitely call l and d.
@nomli I have no idea. I have to call and see if they'll take me midterm and make sure they deliver at my local hospital. All that important stuff.
They stay in business because all the drug addicts go there I've found out. Full term pregnant women nodding off in the waiting room was the first red flag that should have sent me running.
Google is the worst thing! It can be very helpful but almost every symptom you Google means "You're going to die!!"
Do you know when you'll see the new OB yet? I don't understand how incompetent doctors can stay in practice. Headaches and swelling can be completely mundane, but it's good you'll be switching doctors. It took two years and several doctors to get them to take my pain seriously, and I finally have a mammogram scheduled for next week!
@nomli @halifax6 it just hit me that they sell dip sticks OTC. I'll pick one up tomorrow to at least give myself something to go off of.
@halifax6 yeah, of course tomorrow is Friday, but hopefully someone can get me in early next week if I explain the situation. I'm not bothering calling my current OB.
@worlds.okayest.mom I'm not an expert on preeclampsia. I think you have to have high BP and protein. You can call labor and delivery or the advice line and ask them. the vision changes and headache are two major things my Dr told me to look out for, even now after I've had the baby. (I had preeclampsia with severe features) if you don't want to call them, I suggest definitely getting another Dr cause this stuff should be taken seriously. :] I don't think this helps at all... Lol sorry!
@nomli I have no idea. I was trying to Google myself into a panic attack LOL. I wrote it off after the blood pressure check until someone else brought it up after I mentioned taking a 15 minute walk and swelling up like a balloon and getting a terrible headache.
@halifax6 I'll be 22 weeks in Saturday
Isn't the biggest sign protein in urine? I think maybe you can have it without the high blood pressure (I really don't know, though, so totally can be wrong), but I'd hope the office was at least checking your urine every visit! If that comes back okay, then you shouldn't worry. My sister swelled miserably to the point her ankles/calves were the size of her thighs but hers really was just swelling. I had vision changes, blurry, wavy, some other thing that I can't remember.
@worlds.okayest.mom how far along are you? I can't see cause you're profile is private and your name is long.
@aloha808 yeah I was honestly trying to talk myself out of it 😂😂. Like "oh, well I don't have this random obscure thing, or this" but instead it was like "oh hey look, that thing I asked my doctor about earlier 😑
@halifax6 my doctor gave me a script for Oxycodone and said "see you in 4 weeks." I went to check the dip results to see if they recorded anything and it was completely blank 🙄
Self-diagnose can drive you crazy lol but I do it too have you googled from trusting sources 🤷🏻♀️ my sister Inlaw was put on bed rest cause of pre-clamp.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Religion Conspiracy/Theory
