My birth story! 7 Weeks early💕 (sorry it might be kind of long)

- When I was about 28 weeks I had a growth scan and the doctor told me I had high amniotic fluid. This was the first I heard of this. I never knew why my stomach looked like I was ready to pop before I even got into the third trimester until then. The doctor told me to come back in a few weeks to measure the fluid. Following that appointment at MFM, I had a check up with my OB at 29 weeks 6 days where she said my stomach measured at about 34 weeks. Two days later (new year’s weekend) I had BH contractions every couple of minutes that entire night and into the next morning. I went into the hospital and they told me I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. They did some test to see if she could be born in the next couple of weeks and it came back positive. So they kept me over night. They gave me magnesium to stop the contractions and a steroid shot to develop her lungs in case she decided to come early. The magnesium worked and I was discharged the next day. A couple days later I had a follow up appointment at MFM and he said I still had high fluid but not to worry about it yet. On Friday January 19, I was 33 weeks exactly. I went to work that morning (i’m a nanny) and after doing loads of laundry and loading and unloading dishwashers (I think that did it for me) I realized I was getting these burning period like cramps very low in my uterus and they were not stopping. They started out maybe every 5-10 minutes. I got home a few hours later after the kids I nanny for got to school and told my mom. She told me to call the doctor and it took them an hour and a half to call me back. By this time I was cramping every couple of minutes for about 30 seconds each time. When the nurse from my obgyn office finally called me back she told me that was I was feeling was normal. She said that the baby’s head is putting pressure on my pelvic area. I knew this wasn’t right for me because my baby was breech. She told me if i was really concerned I could come in and get checked. But of course she had to make me feel like it was a burden first. I had 15 mins to make the appointment but I got there! The midwife checked me and said I was 1cm and now 90% effaced. She hooked me up to the monitor to see if I was having actual contractions and when she realized I was she sent me over to the hospital. When I got there it was the same deal as last time. Midwife checked me and i was now at 2cm. Hooked me up to the IV and gave me magnesium to stop the contractions. About two hours later I was still contracting and in pain. The midwife checked me again and I was now at 3cm and clearly nothing was going to stop it. My doctor came in, looked at all the contractions and said I needed a c section. He only gave me enough time for my boyfriend to get to the hospital. I was so scared I was hysterically crying. Within 4 hours of being sent to the hospital my daughter was born. she weighed 4 pounds 11 ounces after the doctor told me to prepare for a 3 and a half pound baby! She is in the NICU due to being 7 weeks early but she’s doing great! She has her own room now and today she took milk from a bottle for the first time instead of getting it through a feeding tube. She’s a strong one💕 Her daddy and I love her so much! I have a postpartum appointment in 2 weeks where I am anxious to ask the doctor why this happened to suddenly.
