How affective are the benefits of taking prenatal vitamins? Do you ladies think it really helps? Im currently taking prenatals for this pregnancy but it makes me feel sickish. I dont want to miss out on the benefits that it can provide my baby though and willing to suffer it. I just want to know how much of a difference it can make in our babies.

prenatals are highly effective and recommended due to we usually don't get all the supplements & extras that we need in our daily diets. iron is well-known to be hard on your stomach and cause you to not feel well. gummy prenatals usually don't have iron since they're made to be easier on the stomach. although iron is very important in your diet you can get it through other foods like spinach, eggs, seeds, and beef. another idea is to take your prenatal at night before you go to bed. hope this helps!

You can always switch to a different prenatal.

I stopped taking my prenatals for a while. Because I couldn’t stop vomiting I didn’t start them back up until I was like 22 weeks. I know that’s super bad. But i couldn’t handle them and switched multiple times

They make me very sick also and my doctor told me to take the flinstones vitamins along with DHA

I didn’t take vitamins my first pregnancy at all and was fine. They are really just to replace you with what your baby is taking from you. If you can replace what you need by eating or drinking specific things that will replenish you then you’ll be fine. There are plenty of vitamin drinks out there you can look into as well. I just looked myself into mommy’s water. It’s supposed to be a good supplement instead of taking vitamins. It’s supposed to help with sickness some as well so it’s worth looking into I know there’s other brands out there as well

They are very beneficial to you and baby! They are PACKED with vitamins and baby needs a lot to grow but whatever baby doesn't use, YOU use! If they are making you sick you should switch. Most "prenatal vitamins " aren't what they should be. Same thing for if a food label says "all natural " but still has a crap ton of junk in it. I will look at what kind I have and tell you bc those never make me sick even on an empty stomach. They also help me with morning sickness.
Also I know for my baby at almost 30 weeks needs 250mg of calcium and that's what my vitamins have...without them I wouldn't be able to intake enough calcium just from my diet for baby. :)

I think it really depends on if you had any deficiencies before pregnancy and your diet. For example I am anemic and also had to take folic acid before becoming pregnant, so it was really important that I continued taking it. Yes, they are packed with helpful vitamins, but if you are a healthy eater (lots of fruit, leafy veg, nuts, and beans) you likely get everything you and baby need from your diet. My food aversions were really bad and I'm not always the best at healthy, so I opted for prenatal. The first kind I got made me feel HORRIBLE. Fishy, even more nauseous, but I switched to Women's One a Day w/ DHA and Folic Acid. They are big, but it's really the coating that helps. No fishiness or excess nausea!

This is what I take...has super good ratings...even if you are a perfectly healthy woman before pregnancy and even if your blood work says you are efficient in everything u really should take them. Baby needs a lot to grow healthy and strong

Take gummy prenatals. They are easier to digest without making you nauseous. You can also take your prenatals right before you go to bed at night.
