At the age of 2 1/2 months my daughter started to loose control of her eyes. When she is laying down her eyes go downward and I can only see a small section of her Iris. I spoke to her pediatrician and he recommended we see a neurologist, after doing an EEG and then a 12 hour Video EEG it showed nothing abnormal. They had a MRI scheduled on the 9th for her but I decided not to take her because since the doctor requested 2 procedures done she would be put to sleep for 2 hours, and with the many risk I didn’t want to go through with it.
Has this happened to anyone’s child? the eye thing
Sometime I feel like a bad mom for not taking her every one tells me it’s just her muscles that are not developed completely but I’m just afraid it could be something else.
@karenr1408 nope I think you made a good choice just watch it and if it doesn't improve around 6 months then look into something.
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, Thank you and thank for the kind words I so much I needed to hear that I’ve been so worried about making the wrong choice.
@karenr1408 in her pictures I don't see a issue. I think it is just something she has to gain control over. I wouldn't worry to much. She's beautiful btw
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, For sure I’ll take her then if I see no improvement.
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, I had read something about that too, I went crazy doing research, and that’s also why I was hesitant to taking her.
@karenr1408 so you still have time. I'd wait and if nothing improves by 6 months think about taking her just to be sure and clear any worries up. They may have another alternative solution than putting her to sleep
I just read something that said babies have until around 6 months for them to gain control if they don't then take them to see a doctor.
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, I understand and I appreciate your comment, I’m just afraid she might have the same reaction her father did when he was 4 years, he wouldn’t wake up. We’ve taken her to an ophthalmologist as well and he said that one of his children had the same problem and it was just his eye muscles that were not strong yet. I just felt that because she’s only an infant and she still has so much to develop that I should wait, praying that things get better as she grows.
I will, I saw you have a 1 month year old, congratulations!
