NEED HELP!!! babygirl has a temp of 103.7 we just got home from the er she has a respitory infection. The doctor wrote give her 2.5ml of tylonol and 1.5ml of motrin TOGETHER for her fever. Never heard of giving them at the same time so i called and confirmed and he said definitely together but now my MIL and the pharmacist at cvs told me DONT give them together alternate them. Advice please?

I would listen to a doctor over a pharmacist.

My MIL is an ER nurse. She said they are more effective given at the same time and it is fine. But that Tylenol is more dangerous than Motrin

Oh i see now they have Motrin for her age group 6m to 23 m but Tylenol i only see 2 years and up. So no
When my oldest was that age i only gave him Motrin but now that he is 3 i alternate it. But with my youngest who is 18 months i only give him Motrin.

Personally I would alternate. That's what I have always done for a high fever. Not a doctor just my opinion

I have always alternated every 3 hours when my son had fevers. Never heard of giving it at the same time.

@melody_momof5 and those are full doses too. Idk though i think i should just alternate them to be safe?

I looked it up and it says that taking them together makes them work more effectively. I would do a smaller dose and see how it goes. No blankets, that will raise her temperature even more.
I would use a humidifier with eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils.
