Would it be super bratty of me to demand an u/s at my appt next week? 😂 I feel like I had one every appt when I was pregnant with my son, and maybe my OB is more generous with them for first-time mamas. But this go around, we had an u/s at 6 weeks to determine due date, and we heard the heartbeat via Doppler at my 10 week appt. I'm overly anxious (and I don't say that lightly, I literally do suffer from mental illness) about this babe, and since I can't feel movement yet an u/s would really put my mind at ease. I wanna see my tiny one😣

At my OB they routinely did 3 ultrasounds, 10wks to determine due date, 20wks for anatomy scan and 37 aka to determine position and weight for birth. Anything over that you could elect to have, but they wouldn’t code it as “medically necessary” so you had to pay the full cost on your own w/o insurance (I think it was roughly $700). Unless there was some specific medical concern that caused them to do extra. But every OB is different, my cousin is pregnant now and her OB does them every appointment and they’re all covered, so it can’t hurt to ask about it!

My first one I had ultra sounds almost every appoint it seemed. My second one I had maybe three. I was kinda disappointed because I loved the ultra sounds lol but it never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is no
