Should I take her to the hospital?
I breastfed skin to skin and pulled away to see this
okay yeah thats fine! just after clean her belly button with warm water again! u can repeat that after every feeding until it looks like it closed and healed
just treat is as a scratch when its bleeding! its like an open wound & u dont want anything getting inside so it wont get infected
just try to keep her belly button away from u if u have clothes on so any particals wont get into it because its like an open wound right now.
@babeylarissa, thank you and I just let her sleep in a shirt kimono style it’s a bit warm and it easier to change her and nurse her. What do I do when I need to nurse her again?
dont worry about the smell it has a good color & looks like its healing fine!
thats good! just keep it dry if u dont have the gauzes dont put on a onsie as it can stick with the dry blood ☺️
yeah we got super freaked out i called a friend that has 3 boys and asked her
Thank you! It’s just almost all the way healed so I’m super worried @babeylarissa,
i think we still have the pic of how it looked too ima look for it to show u
gauze pads yes just looked them up & u can use tape theres a special tape for that so it wont hurt the skin & put a onsie one her so it can stay
yes those lol the ones that dont have tape around it its just like a napkin sort of thing
@randie.raye, you can use a soap just make sure it’s not highly scented so it doesn’t cause irritation
to my daughter we took her onsie off & noticed blood i think we probably pulled it off but we didnt go to the hospital we just put that pad that i told u & made sure to change it every time we changed her diaper & clean it with warm water
Yea take like a cotton ball or qtip and gentle wipe it like with a bit of warm water and air dry it I totally get your worry and you’re doing the right thing.
@babeylarissa, I try to keep it as dry as possible but maybe while we were doing skin to skin it happened.
this happened to my daughter! we got super scared when this happened too lol just keep it dry u can put one of those pads people use for like scrapped knees & put a onsie on her & it'll keep it dry
It’s very normal for bleeding because it has to heal needs to be kept dry maybe the body heat cause a bit of moisture and maybe some friction caused a bit of bleeding but honestly it doesn’t look at all bad to me but I’m not a professional you know if you would rather go now and calm your worried than please do
@skysmommy04, you think it’d be okay to wait till the morning? I just payed her down and she’s been up and moving around all day. She’s 10 days old
@randie.raye, you can take her tomorrow in case just to calm your worries
@mamamariposaxo, much much better. We have kept it dry and earlier I just let her lay in her diaper since it was warm and we got to air it out
