What's something that you would take from the way you were raised and apply it to your child's upbringing? What's something you'd definitely change?
@ashtonndamon I can definitely agree,my mom was the same way. She always shut me down, and I never felt comfortable opening up.
I would apply our morals and values with a church background. And I have with each of my children.
Something I would change is the work ethic. Too much comfort in settling for less
My parents always said that I could talk to them about anything but then when I did it was always down played or they got angry which made it more difficult to tell them when I was pregnant or when something major was wrong. I will always help my son.
One thing my mom did well was family time. She went all out on holidays so we'd all be together, Sunday your ass better be at that kitchen table for dinner, always did family outings even if it was just to the park. One thing I won't do is tell my kids they can't or what they want to do is not good enough. If my son wants to go into dance class, ok! If my daughter wants to play football, ok! Gotta let them explore being kids before I tell them no
I always wanted to go camping as a kid and do things outdoors so I will definitely try to change that cycle.
@jleona Yeah I understand that, my mom was more of a friend than a mother but even less of a friend if that makes sense, and she was super abusive...so id change a lot
@aandbi14, thank you it's only fair especially the world we lived in befor totally different from today's
@adams2017 For sure! You have the chance to teach amazing things! Good luck!
My mom never disciplined me and let me talk back at a very young age. We have more of a friendship than a mother daughter relationship. I'm not big on physical discipline, but when my oldest is disrespectful or talks back I correct him and occasionally pop him in the mouth. Seems to be working pretty well.
We've decided to change everything being that we were both raised very different so we will raise her pretty much how we want well respected of course @aandbi14,
What's Something That You Moms Craved or Crave ?
what's something, you had to give up once you found out you were pregnant? something that was hard to quit or get adjusted to?
What do YOU judge
Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?
One food you love most!
What's one food you can never get tired of eating.
If only they knew...
What's something your husband does freely that his friends would make fun of him for if they knew?
@jsco Agreed !❤
