Thoughts on the Tdap vaccine and if it's a good idea to get it or not? My midwife is giving me a choice, and I clearly have no idea if I should or not. 🤔 I also heard that if you do get it the people who come in contact with your baby have to be vaccinated as well... 🤔
I got mine! My arm was really sore for a couple days but that's about it. After my son was born they offered my husband the shot and he declined and that's as far as it went lol
@malainaheka23, my mother got it. My husband is another story. Can't make him do it. My daughter's pcp recommended the flu shot yesterday. I explained my paranoid husband (mind you that was his pediatrician) so I'm sure he understands him better than I do on his stance of anything medical 🤦🏻♀️
I got it both pregnancies and the flu shot. My shot/vaccinations anti husband 😂 refuses to get either. We are now in the debacle of whether our daughter gets the flu shot. I've always spaced out her immunizations. He's petrified of autism and that this "causes" it. There are theories but no proven risk factor from vaccines after decades of research. Mind you, I work in the field 🤷🏻♀️

@malainaheka23, nope I never got vaccinated before, but now I do.
But I have my baby vaccinated for everything including tdap.
His pedi refuses to have clients who won't vaccinate anyway.
But that cough was miserable. I couldn't breathe, I threw up, everything hurt, I didn't sleep cuz the cough was worse at night.
I'm not sure why people choose to not vaccinate but all I know from experience of thinking it wasn't a huge deal, was I got really sick.
@fasciamom, Did you get the vaccination and then contract? &thank you so much!!! I've never been vaccinated before so I'm definitely on the fence about getting it.
Just some experience here.
I worked in an emergency room while I was pregnant and contracted the whooping cough while I was about 5 months pregnant and it was miserable!
I never get vaccinated for the flu or anything like that but I can tell you that having that cough is the worst thing ever. They then need to notify the state and it's a whole process 😑
@taylorsmommy10817, hmm, okay... thanks girl! I'm definitely going to do a lot of research before I decide!
@taylorsmommy10817, where did you do your research?
@taylorsmommy10817, I'm definitely going to do more research before I decide!
@malainaheka23, yeah can't hurt nothing lol, both of my boys was fine with just me getting it though 🙂
@tyoungdeer, lol my midwife told me that if I decide to get vaccinated then everyone who comes in contact with my baby has to be vaccinated too. 🙈 I was like, uh, okay... that seems a bit extreme, don't you think?😳 haha but I'm actually considering having people get it just to be safe! 🤷🏻♀️
I had the Tdap shot! My husband didn't have to get it and neither did any of the family that came to visit.. My doctor never mentioned that they needed to 🤔
@malainaheka23, I didn’t have any side effects personally and I’m not sure about friends and family my doctor just said as long as I got it my baby will be protected
@malainaheka23, My arm was a little bit sore, but nothing unbearable.
@tkharlow33, @theinkedmommy, thank you ladies! Were there any side effects with the Tdap? I'm definitely not getting the flu shot. I got it once years ago and it was the worst mistake. What about your other family members or friends who visited you after your baby was born?
@malainaheka23, I got it. I did not get the flu shot though. Everyone in my household (husband, MIL, and FIL) got theirs.
I definitely got mine but I didn’t get the flu shot
So I'm a bit confused . In a month my child will get three combined vaccines. Are all the vaccines necessary ? Do you vaccinate your kids . I hear of children getting sick or having problems years later or worse ... Death . Which I would never want for my son 😭😪. Voice your opinion.

So I have a 2 bedroom apartment and have no room to put a crib so I started to look online to get some type of ideas... wth???
So My coworker does not get vaccinated for anything due to religious practices and she’s worried about our job making it mandatory since they discussed it earlier this week. It’s crazy how when vaccines even started or came about we were told it would be voluntary but now it’s mandatory and people need a verification card to go certain places. We even have certain states doing lottery drawings just to make people get it. people shouldn’t fear losing their jobs or having to go against their relig...

I really want to get a tattoo dedicated to my son once he's born but I have no idea which idea I like more. 🙊
did anybody not get the TDAP vaccine? i have to get mine my next appointment & i was thinking to myself do i absolutely need it?
