So my daughter just turned 2 September 2nd and I only just weaned her from the breast in july. She was only nursing to sleep and had been for most of the last year before then. But even since she has been weaned she hasn't forgotten about breastfeeding. Occasionally when I'm shirtless around her (we shower together because it's about the only way I have time to get us both clean) she tries to latch again. And i can't tell if it's like an instinctual reaction or if she actually remembers breastfeeding. I'm not all that worried about her remembering breastfeeding because I am teaching my children that breasts are for feeding babies and don't plan to sexualize them at all in raising them. I'm more worried that she will get jealous of her baby brother nursing when he is born. Has anyone else had this kind of experience? When she does try to latch ( it's only happened maybe 3 or 4 times since she weaned) I tell her no and that "bups are for babies/baby brother" and she doesn't get mad she just kind of giggles like she was being silly. And i don't plan to hide breastfeeding from her because that's pretty much impossible and impractical seeing as I'm a single mother. I'm just a little worried that she will get jealous. But I also have 21 weeks to go and maybe she will forget by then? Idk any advice?

My best friend's son was so jealous of his baby brother that she did tandom feeding and had them latch at the same time to eat just so the 2 year old wouldn't cry. Either that or she would pump and give the milk to her oldest in a bottle while feeding the baby. It worked great for her.
Ya my sisters kids got real jelous around that time. My neice was so jelous of her sister she was about the same age to. And my sister would have to watch her close cuz shed throw a fit cuz she felt her mama loved baby more then her just show them both same affection and i think ull get her outa the jelousy if she has it. I haven’t been through it but I think you’re going about it in the right way. Even if she did remember by the time her brother was born I’d still go about it the same as you have been.
My son turned two in April we, we weaned in June, I’m 33 weeks pregnant. My son was totally fine once he was completely weaned, but as SOON as I started lactating he started trying to latch again !!! I think he smelled it and now tries to latch because of instinct. I just started telling him boobs were for new baby and showed him the milk. I even gave him a little taste but he said it tasted gross lmao.
