My 8 yearold goes in for surgery this Thursday to get his tonsils and adnoids taken out. What foods can he eat and not eat and what can he drink and not drink?
@lilmama83, yeah. She loved the ice cream but it just hurt her to swallow. Oh and another thing. Alternate the medicine every 4 hours. Tylenol and Motrin. And if they give you pain medicine give it the same time you give the Motrin. That’s what the drs at the children’s hospital told me to do after my daughter had hers out in July.
He can drink anything but red stuff. And the only reason he can’t drink red stuff is because you need to know if his throat is bleeding or not.
Mine just had hers removed. The first night home she ate ice cream and Mac n cheese. After that she wouldn’t eat anything but mashed potatoes for a week. And she would only eat a bite or two and then be done. She lost about ten to fifteen pounds. But soft foods ice cream, pudding, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes stuff like that.
@lilmama83, you’re welcome. I alternated it whether she was in pain or not. I set an alarm on my phone so I was sure to give it to her. She also ran a fever for a couple days after.
