She offered the clothes bc she's moving and she's about to go through all of them so I said sure but she's also buying my breast pump and making me a diaper cake for my baby shower. But yeah, MY family bought all this stuff for the baby, my husband's mom is just now asking if I have a registry made and together his parents make like 100k a year and his family in Maryland banks too and they haven't even asked about what the baby needs or what they already have. The only thing they offered was a bath tub they found at a garage sale and I was like Lord help me if they think I'm using this. It was a white tub with YELLOW stains. 😐

@medeles98 that's really nice of ur boss to give u the clothes. Question is ur boss giving u any other gift besides used clothes? I only ask because my husband's mom is a lawyer, dad a doc and sis a teacher and they flaunt alot about their house and money sometimes in which is why i prob got a little offended that they offered used clothes from a cousin I have never met and they haven't brought my child anything as of yet. We got a house like theirs, a little slightly smaller and when they have events i buy everything new for them. But on the bright side I'm thankful my family and friends brought everything....from crib to car seat to tons of clothes. Its a shame because his fam is right here in texas....15 mins from us and my fam and friends is all the way in new york and Trinidad shipping gifts since the day i got preggos and his fam don't ever help with anything even though i really don't look for anyone's help to be honest. My husband and i can afford new clothes. I just don't like used clothes period and especially from strangers. I never even met this cousin lol

I'm only accepting hand me downs from my boss who's had 2 boys very recently, but she's only giving me the lightly used and new Clothes. My son will have new clothes but I understand wanting everything new for a newborn. If I had the money to shop a lot, he would have all his clothes new 😕 but everything else like his crib, stroller, bassinet will be new. But clothes he's just gonna grow out of after a whole I'm not tripping over. 😁 wouldn't accept clothes from people I didn't know personally though. Idk where they've been at 😕

No you aren't wrong at all! My husbands mother sent us a box of used clothes for our baby and it was all stained and old clothes that weren't in style and faded . He has so many clothes so I just threw them away I don't want my baby is used things bc we can afford to get him new clothes. It's just all about your preference but I don't think your wrong at all !

@kristellecdn87, that is petty you don't even know them so why would you want to put those clothes on your newborn 😩 you right thank you but no thank you.. I got my nephew crib and that's because he sleep in it twice and other than that it was used to store all his washed clothes.. that's all I took and of course my sister gave me that so I know where it's been and how it was used 😂

@redd_gurl yes i Def would accept any gift anyone gives me. But my husband fam asked my husband if i wanted clothes from their cousin. I don't even know this cousin. So i said if its used no thank u in the nicest way possible and they got so upset by that. Just so petty.

@kmharr3 im a shopaholic...so is my husband so i don't mind buying new clothes. Also i haven't spend anything yet. My fam and friends keeps buying and sending to myself. I'm sure there are plenty of nice used clothes. Your right. Just wanted use it on myself so def wouldn't use it on my first child

I think it's up to you my niece just turned one and my sister is similar to me and kids have mostly the same outfits... I will be visiting my niece and I find myself always saying I got that outfit 😂 I brought what I wanted all new I don't want anything used.. my sister said when I found out it was a girl🤦🏽‍♀️she said I know how you are so I'll give all my stuff away.. I told her I'm appreciative of anything offered but I would prefer to buy what I like

@shayla.galloway yea i Def heard. But i love baby carters...Macy's....Bloomingdales from NYC. I haven't spend a dime yet. My fam and my husband keeps buying. Its only his fam that wants to get me used clothes and i don't want any.

There are some really nice used clothes. Some only worn a few times. Not all used clothes are ratty and stained. Almost all of my girls clothes are hand me downs. I did not see the point in spending so much money on something that would be quickly out grown or spit up on. I don't think it is wrong of you for not wanting to use used clothing but your the one who is paying for the new clothes

Hunny maybe from family but for your child there are some nice used clothing is ganna be 10x cheaper than anywhere else. I've gotten my daughter's cuter outfits from thrift stores

@momofdeuce my mom..my family...his Dad and our friends send him new clothes like every week. Im def aware how fast kids grow and of the expense. Just don't do hand me downs. But i like ur advice and i appreciate it. That's exactly what i told his family...my kid my choice

@lucifermommy im ok with buying new clothes. I wouldn't use used clothes on my kid. And i also taught it was petty for them to get upset. Everyone is different you know

All my babies clothes come from her cousin that's 4 months older than her. And I'm giving the clothes that are still in good shape to my sister in law that's also having a girl. It's a lot less money to spend. Baby clothes are expensive to be buying a new wardrobe every 2-4 months

Your baby your choice but you'll soon realize how fast they grow out of clothes and what a waste of money it is . I think I've only spent maybe 200 dollars on clothes & shoes since my son has been born everything else has been hand me downs from friends . Really nice stuff too and some not even worn . but like I said your baby your choice no one can make you take what you dont want and you shouldn't feel bad for your decision

I agree but I accepted plenty of use clothes and items to not be rude and just in case times get hard. I totally understand what u are saying.
