Does anyone use the nipple shield? My baby is about to leave the nicu and finally come home and I was just wondering if you guys had a lower supply from using the shield or if you continued to pump. Also if your still pumping do you pump every time, or just for a few min etc. ? I'm definitely new to this

No I have tried since to just go bare and he just don't know what to do. He eats every 3 hours so I pump after that, and when I'm not there I have continued to pump every 3 hours since I have only been able to feed him twice a day since we live kind of far from the hospital he's at. The rest of the time when were not there he takes a bottle

Mine used the shield for just shy of 3 months. I would start feeding with the shield and then pull it off and try to feed without it. Continued that until he didn't need it anymore. Now he's 7 months and breastfeeds without the shield and will also take a bottle

I have tried that a few times, he latches but won't continue. Maybe I should try every time
