How much of the ready-to-use enfamil bottles should my 2 day old be eating??? She varied from 30 ml this morning to 10 ml to 15 ml. The nursery nurse told me she should be eating 30 ml every feeding. I just don't want her to lose weight 😣

Let your baby eat what she will eat and don't worry about the nurse's opinion because what she told you is just that.

Newborns are so sleepy lol. Just do your best and she'll be more alert around a week or two!

@mcrowell0970, @kambam, yeah like I'll have to wake her up sometimes bc she'll sleep for the longest and not wanna wake up to eat. But she usually just eats what she wants and then I'll burp her and she'll go to sleep or sometimes she might want some more. I don't force it unless I feel like she hasn't drank that much

Mine lost a ton and I never supplemented. That being said, I did pump and had to force feed him. It made me feel bad but it's what he needed. If you do have to force a feed, it won't hurt her ☺ just try not to overfeed especially formula as it could cause issues down the line

@mcrowell0970, @kambam, She made me feel bad. She's a different nursery nurse than what she had to begin with and she was like oh, well you need to make sure she eats 30 ml every time or she'll lose weight. I mean, I can't help if she falls asleep or doesn't want anymore. I don't wanna shove it down her throat

Their stomachs are about an ounce at that age. 30ml is on the higher end and probably just enough
