There is a midwifery right next to Kenneths work, and I asked him to grab me pamphlets the other day. He forgot 😉 but the next day he went in and talked to someone and they let him know they have weekly orientations that are a prerequisite to making an appointment! So I'm going to that tomorrow. I live in an apartment so my idea of a home birth is not going to happen, but at least a birth center will be just as nice. I'm avoiding a hospital at all costs because I do NOT want my first pregnancy at age 22 to end in a damn C-section that gives me a giant scar! (Not shaming those who have had necessary C-sections, or have opted for one over a vaginal birth, it's just not for me!)

5 weeks, 3 days today!

Haha awww dang! I really hope everything goes smoothly for me. But I know emergencies do happen, and I trust the midwives will know when it's time to move me over.

They're very well trained to understand the female body. If you're not progressing or if the baby heartbeat skyrockets, it's clearly in distress and needs some help getting out. This rarely happens when we are left to our own devices when giving birth. Hospitals like to rush you and push medicines that start contractions before the baby is ready and it leads to distress and therefore a C-section.

Women have been giving birth for a very long time before all these fancy machines came out. We need to start trusting that our bodies will know what to do when it's time.

I'm glad you felt so comfortable and safe! I will feel comfortable and safe with a midwife.

@raquely yes they do, and some even work with hospitals so they can be there to support and help you as long as things so not go wrong.

Next child Speaking to my partner tonight about having our next child i ideally don't want another for a few years yet but he turned around and said only on one condition you have a c section ( i got a 3rd degree tear with Oliver) I actually don't want a c section but he said he won't have another child otherwise am I being unfair ? I loved my birth with Oliver i loved that feeling him being placed on me, but he said if I don't have a c section the next baby won't be with him :(

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Forgive me if this offends anyone but is it just me or does it seem like doctors are so quick to jump to c-sections these days? Even my midwife at 30 weeks said if my baby doesn’t turn (he’s transverse) I’ll have to have a c-section. Which of course put so many thoughts in my mind that I didn’t necessarily need because I still have ten weeks. I just don’t get it I guess. Technically we can go to 42 weeks.

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
